Because she was the daughter of the biggest and most feared man in Compton LA her father was well respected in these streets and if anybody I mean anyone tired to step to Mel it would be a problem. I guess her father didn't feel any man was worthy of his precious innocent Mel, he had high hopes for his daughter and he didn't want her getting caught up with no bum who thought he wasn't going to provide and take care of her. So if a nigga tried to step to his daughter he would either torture them or you know the rest..people knew better many tired to court her but her father would always stop it until he seen a man worth her settling down for or it wasn't happening.

Mel was 21 years old and that was her main issue she wanted to live free from her pops rules she didn't choose this life, but respected her pops when Mel mother passed away when she was 5 years old her father didn't really know what to do
Raising a head strong little girl was terrifying for him luckily he had his family to help but he always wanted to protect Mel.
But Mel was Defiant and wild especially when she turned 18 that's when he started seeing it, she was staying out all night not answering her phone. Now that she was of age she had this I don't care attitude lately. "I'm only trying to save her like I couldn't do for Mel's mother who I loved dearly, and living in Compton La doesn't help any".

Melanie is 21 years of age living with her overprotective single father who is well respected and highly feared. She from Crenshaw and lives in lA, at times she just want to be free to make her own choices.

Jhene is Melanie's ghetto cousin who she always can depend on no matter what they grew up together and always been close since Jhene mom and Mel mom was close like sisters she lives in Compton with her mom she's an artist.

Sincere "Sin, is A loving respected and  overprotective father, and drug lord in lA he never wanted this life it choose him after Mel mom passed from cancer sin had to figure out a way to make ends meet because growing up he never had it easy and his hopes was to give Mel a life of luxury and protection He loved material things and fast money but nothing he loved more Than his daughter and respect those two you don't fuck with.

Nipsey hussle is a 25 year old loving father and is a well respected in lA he works for sincere "sin" Mel's father as his right hand man and business partner. He advocates against police brutality and is heavy in the community so people respect him don't be fooled and judge a book by its cover, the only reason he got in the game was to help his parents. Nip has a good head on his shoulders but hardship is not something new to him.

Yg is nipsey right hand man, and friend. He is a devoted father to his kids but occasionally works for sin but he really want to be his own boss
