Chapter 2: Doubtful

In a senior high school in Tucson, Arizona. 1 day before summer vacation. Year 1989.

It is the last day of school, everyone is saying their final goodbyes to their fellow classmates whom they won't be seeing again.

"Godspeed, good luck in college!"

The cries and heartaches alone is enough for an assumption that they indeed had a good time and bondings with each other.

As tears fall down to their cheeks, the school bell rings, indicating that it is time to dismiss.

There goes the students, coming out of their classrooms, with the noise their voices produce.

Of course, some students will still be seeing their fellow classmates as they still can invite each other out to a party or meal.

However, Andrew, is dead silent while heading straight towards the school exit.

Not surprising, since in fact, he has been known as the quiet kid, the shy guy, and the introvert. Not to mention, everyone in his classroom has been nice to him and they actually invited him for some social gatherings before, but he still chose to stay away from people even now.

As he exits the school, Samantha, who is well now and is with her best friend, notices him.

"Hold on a second girl.... Oh! It's andrew!"

"Who's andrew?"

"It's the guy I met yesterday because of some sort of accident I made."

"Weird, why is he walking alone? Does he not have any friends."

"I don't know, I just got to know him a little bit yesterday, come on, let's go after him."

They then run after him and while they are running, Samantha shouts his name, thereby making him stop walking.

"Drew! Andrew!"

He looks around and finds two girls running towards him.

As the girls get closer, he finds out that one of them is the girl he met yesterday.

"Hi again Andrew, nice to meet you again!"

Andrew, who does not know how to react to niceness and friendliness, he freezes in awkard silence, again.

"Oh..........nice to meet you again......................."

Samantha, who is a very empathetic person, pressumes that he is a shy guy and understands him.

Because of that, she quickly breaks the awkward silence he is enduring right now by speaking.

"Andrew, this is my best friend, Abby."

Abby likewise greets him with pure genuineness.

"Hi! I'm Abby, nice to meet you."

Soon after Abby greeted him, Samantha immediately invites the three of them to go to an amusement park.

"How about, we go to an amusement park today?"

Abby is surprised by what Samantha said and she questions her authenticity.

"Woah, really? Today already? Where do we get our money to pay?"

Samantha boastfully replies that she has adequate money for it and she will pay for Abby and Andrew.

"Chill, I have enough money in my wallet and I'm gonna pay for you two. Well also, my mom knows that I'm coming home late to have fun with friends after school today."
