Chapter 1: No partner, no entry.

[Early Morning at Bikini Bottom]

VOOOOOM!

The large air horn alarm burned through the small pineapple home. Spongebob was sleeping peacefully, one leg off the edge of his mattress and his arm up behind his back. Drool dripped down the edge of his mouth as he snores softly. Gary slithers up toward the mattress and slips onto his bright yellow face.

"Meow." Gary purred.

Spongebob flickered his eyes open to see his beloved pet in his lap.

"Good morning Gary!" Spongebob excitedly sits up and squeezes his favourite snail tightly in his arms.

"Meow..."

"Oh! Of course! Let me get ready for work and I'll get you some breakfast!" Spongebob pulls Gary off his spongy skin and places him gently down on the floor.

Spongebob happily hums as he excitedly opens his closet to take out his favourite plain white shirt, red tie and brown square pants! They don't call him square pants for any plain reason!

Spongebob quickly dresses himself fully, top to bottom, he grabs his work hat from his hat holder and pops it on his head. Sponge races down stairs toward the kitchen.

"Gary!" Spongebob sung.

Gary slowly slithers into the kitchen.

"Meow."

"Ready for breakfast?" Spongebob smiles brightly.

"Meow!"

"Let me get that Snail-PO!" Spongebob leans over his counter to the cupboard and reaches for the snail food. He walks over to Gary's bowl and pours his breakfast in the bowl.

"Alright Gary! I might be back late tonight- Mr Krabs wants us to stay a little after work hours- I hope you don't mind! Be good!" Sponge smiles and leans down giving Gary a sloppy kiss on the top of his eyeball. Gary groaned with a 'meow' and slithered over to his bowl to eat his food.

Spongebob cups his two hands together and leans them against his cheek in awe.

Spongebob sprung towards the front door to leave for work. He locks up and heads off.

"Hmm... I hope Patrick is feeling alright, his poor leg is still broken from last week's jelly fishing trip... Well I'll check on him after work!" Spongebob exclaimed to himself as he passed the big rock Patrick calls home.

"Wonder if Squidward is up... maybe I should check?" Spongebob questions himself. He looks up at the big stone house.

"I shouldn't bother him..." Spongebob mutters under his breath.

Even if he did check on Squidward he knows Squid will snap at him for bothering him, lately Spongebob has tried his best not to seriously irritated Squidward- Squid has seemed to be slightly avoiding Spongebob, trying to stay as far as he can from him. Spongebob is starting to think he did something to upset his friend but has been too nervous to ask.

Spongebob decides he will leave Squidward this morning and see him at work instead.

Spongebob starts his walk to the Krusty Krab, he hums softly as he skips along the path to work, Gosh it would be easier if he just had his boating licence, Spongebob is now 19 and STILL hasn't got his boating licence... he tries to not allow the failure get to him but deep down this impacts him deeply.
