Callum POV
My alarm started blaring as I slowly crawled out from my bedsheet and went to the bathroom with a towel over my shoulder. After a quick shower, I dressed in a dark blue hoodie with a yellow t-shirt underneath, dark blue jeans and black trainers.
"Cal-Cal! Breakfast is ready!" Jody shouted from downstairs.
"Yeah, I'm on my way." I called back as I tugged on my black eyepatch, covering my scar and prosthetic eye, shouldered my bag and went downstairs.
"Well well well. Look who decided to come downstairs. Getting wet dreams about your girlfriend?" Jody teased.
"Jody! Not at the table." Timothy scolded.
"I was teasing, Dad." Jody said coyly.
"Very funny, Jody. And no, I wasn't dreaming about Amy." I lied, blushing at the thought of seeing Amy in a wedding dress.
"Right. If we're done teasing Callum because of his love life." My mother said.
"Mum!" I whined, covering my face in embarrassment.
"I suggest we finish breakfast as soon as possible. I've got a long day ahead of me." My mother concluded as she placed a plate of toast and eggs on the table.
"Ditto." Timothy said, stretching his arms.
After breakfast, Timothy went to work while my mother, Jody and I went to school. We encountered Marinette and Amy, who were waving at us. Amy kissed me on the cheek, much to the joy of my mother and Jody's amusement.
"So, what's new? Any presents for Christmas?" Jody asked us as we made our way to class.
"Nothing much, really. Just a pendent that belonged to my late grandmother before she gave it to my mother before she left for college. And some clothes and some games for my PC." Amy said as she pinched a silver chain and heart shaped stone hanging from it
"More sewing equipment since my last one got trashed by my former friends." Marinette said.
"Really? Cal-Cal and I got video games and a new games console since our old one stopped working." Jody replied.
"Yeah and who's fault is that?" I said with a scoff.
"Umm." Jody said in fake puzzlement.
I sighed as we parted ways and went to homeroom. Suddenly, a body crashed onto my back, hugging me from behind. As the figure released me, I recognized him.
"Oscar?" I gasped.
"Sup, Cal? It's been a while. I'd say 2 maybe 3 years." Said Oscar.
Oscar had changed ever since I moved out of Edinburgh to live in Paris. He grew a few inches taller and lost some weight. He was wearing a black and white polar shirt, grey jeans and black sneakers. His hair was cut short and he no longer wore glasses.
"Oscar. Long time no see." Amy said as she clapped Oscar's shoulder.
"Amy. Nice to see you again." He said with a smirk.
"Wait, what are you doing here?" I asked.
"I'm a student here, bro. My folks moved here after my dad got a promotion to work as the assistant head for this school." Oscar explained.
"Really?" I asked.
"Heck yeah, mate! Your childhood friend is here to stay!" Oscar cheered.
"Is he-?" Marinette asked.
"Yeah. That's Oscar Smith. My childhood friend. See, my parents, well my Dad, is friends with his dad since they were kids. So, yeah." I explained.
"Hey, I was told that you and Amy are dating. Is that true?" He asked us.
Amy and I looked at each other and blushed in embarrassment.
"About time! You two were all blush blush and platonic. I was hoping you two would bury the hatchet." Oscar said in a teasing manner.
"Shut up." Amy and I retorted.
Suddenly, an explosion spooked everyone, causing all the student to run outside to see what was the cause of the explosion. We say a wave of drones firing missiles at the street, scaring everyone.
"Wait, aren't those the drone from Brown Tech INC? I thought they got rid of them." Oscar said.
Oliver. I thought and nodded at Amy. We slipped out from the crowd and put on our vigilante suits. As we ascended to the roof, we saw Ladybug knocked back by Bullseye. As soon as he saw us, he fired his dual pistols at us. Midnight Angel drew out her staff and parried the bullets, allowing me to throw my batarangs at him. He dived to the side, rolling across the roof.
"Surprised to see me again, Nocturnal Runner?" He asked with a smirk.
"Yeah. I'm surprised it took you 3 months for you to comeback for revenge." I replied.
"Since when have you become so snarky? Not that I care or anything." He said as he darted towards me. As we fought, Ladybug and Midnight Angel went to fight the drones.
Bullseye tried to slash his knife at me, but I parried with my batarang and snapped a heel kick across his face, knocking him back. He recovered and slashed his knife at me again, forcing me to block and parry his attacks with my batarangs until he snapped a kick at my stomach, knocking me to the ground. He tried to stab me, but I kicked him in the face and leaped back onto my feet.
"Dodge this!" Bullseye shouted as he ducked under a drone, which fired its turret at me. I managed to dodge a few bullets until one grazed my cheek and another cut my shoulder.
I tutted in irritation and ran towards the drone. It fired a missile at me, but I dodged it and front flipped over the drone, placing two explosive batarangs inside its shell. As I landed, the drone exploded behind me.
"Not bad, Nightrunner. I'd say you've improved the last time we met. I still owe you after you broke my nose." Bullseye said.
"Why do I get the feeling that you're just toying with me?" I asked.
The mercenary laughed.
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you." He said.
I saw the drones backing away from Ladybug and Midnight Angel, much to my confusion. Then it hit me.
"It was a diversion. You're after the Miracle Box." I said.
"Spot on, Kid. But you're too late." Bullseye said as he hopped onto one of the drones and flew away.
"Nightrunner! I just got a call from Master Fu! The Miracle Box is gone!" Ladybug said in my earpiece.
"Damn it. The attack was a diversion, allowing Bullseye's allies to break into the shop." I muttered.
Can't believe we fell for it. Hook, line and sinker.
