Callum POV
A week passed by and while Paris is once again safe, my mother was stuck in a coma. The bullet that scrapped her head was the cause of it and she only had a few years to wake up. If not, they would switch off her life support.
Every day, I would go to the hospital on my own or with Timothy and Jody to visit her. Every time I looked at my ruined Nightrunner suit, I would think about her. While our secret identities were known by our family, the public doesn't know.
However, it kept me wondering why The Akuma army never said anything about our alter egos to everyone. Maybe it wouldn't matter because we wouldn't live too tell the tale.
Amy's mother recovered from her injuries, albeit giving Amy the scolding of a lifetime for keeping her in the dark. But, nonetheless, was still proud of her. Timothy suggested I take some time off from being Nightrunner for a while. I agreed.
Amy knocked on my door and entered my bedroom, wearing a pink t-shirt, black jean shorts and white plimsols. She walked over and sat on my bed, resting her head on my shoulder.
"Hey." She said softly.
"Hey." I replied glumly.
"I'm sorry about your Mum." She said, caressing the scar on my right eye.
I hummed in response and looked up at the ruined Nightrunner suit hung on the wardrobe. Amy pressed her forehead against mine, wiping away the tears from my left eye.
"So, upside is that those who have been akumatized have been recovered and our secrets are more or less safe." She said.
"Downside, they're still out there. Adrien and his gang. Not to mention we still don't have the Miracle Box." I replied bitterly.
"And my Dad is with them." She replied, mimicking my bitter tone.
I sighed and fell flat on my bed back first, staring at the celling. Amy kicked off her trainers and lay next to me. Her hair smelled like strawberries. Without warning, I pulled Amy towards me, hugging her tightly.
"C-Cal?" Amy gasped in embarrassment.
I nuzzled next to her, taking in her scent. My hands snaked around her waist.
"You smell really good." I mumbled.
"I just took a shower after I went out to jog in the park." She said.
I smiled and pressed my lips against her neck, causing her to blush even more. Yet, she didn't push me away. I met her gaze.
"Can you stay with me? At least for the night?" I asked.
Amy hugged my shoulder and briefly kissed my lips, gently biting my lower lip for good measure.
"Yeah. I'll stay with you as long as you want." She said as she wrapped her leg around mine and snuggled comfortably.
"You're luck I'm a nice person, Cal." She yawned and fell asleep.
I'm lucky to have you too. I thought, kissed her forehead and fell asleep, enjoying the warmth.
It may not be much, but it'll be enough.
