A Shadow's Light (Pokémon Fanfiction)

Chapter 4

I limp out of the Pokemon Center with Crystal at my side, ready to catch me if... Make that when, I trip over something and fall. I have a big bulky cast on my right ankle and have to use crutches. And it really stinks.

Crystal gives me a sympathetic look, "Cheer up Silver. At least you aren't in there for another week! Besides, you only have to have it for a month. After that, you can take it off!"

I faked a smile. Though it wasn't very convincing, because Crystal just patted me on the back, "It'll be over before you know it."

I just looked ahead and kept limping on into the woods.

After a little while of walking in the woods in silence, Crystal speaks up, "Why don't we find you a safer place to stay? Some place that isn't run down so you don't have to go through this twice!" She said and I smiled a little for real this time.

"That would be nice, thanks Crystal." I say with a small, inward blush. I don't know why, but I feel so different when it's just me and Crystal! She understands me so well and the thought of her makes my heart flutter!...

...!

Where did that come from?! The medications must of not worn off yet or something...

But why does my heart feel warm? I get Butterfree's in my stomach when she's with me! Maybe it's some kind of side effect...

Crystal's P.O.V.

I feel sorry for Silver. It really stinks having a broken bone. But I'll be here when he needs me, and...

"Why are you staring at me?" Silver breaks my thoughts.

"I was staring?!" Asking to myself more than to Silver.

Silver nodded, "And you're also blushing."

I can feel my whole face go red now! Yikes! I am really being a fool in front of Silver now!

"L-L-Let's move on!" I stutter.

Silver grins at me and nods. Phew! That was too close! I hate actin like that in front of Silver! He's the one who can bring out the softest part in my heart, and I can't even bare to be angry with him for even a moment! Before he came along, I was a strong, independent girl! But now... I feel like I would fall apart without him! I used to be very serious, but I can let loose around him, and I feel so safe with him...

Gold's P.O.V.

"So that's what ties you three so close together!" Red said, "Do you think I could be a Rage Spirit too? You said it runs in families!"

David shakes his head, "No. Only the first and second born children can have the ability. And once you know how to use it, it's not an ability you want to have!"

Red just shrugs, "Well, can I at least help out a little bit? I can keep an eye out for other Rage Spirits and Dark Spirits!"

I nodded, "That would be great Red! Thanks!"

"No! No thanks! He's not getting mixed up in this!" Pat growls.

David puts a hand on his shoulder, "Calm down Pat. If you ask me, it's a good idea. If he can find the other Rage Spirits, then we can get in contact with them and once we find all the Rage Spirits, we can prepare for the battle! Red won't get hurt, and we all benefit!"

Pat looked away angrily, "Fine."

"And one more thing Red. Mention none of this to anyone! Especially Silver! He doesn't know it, but he's my Dark Spirit! If he finds out before I can get to him to start Light Spirit training, he may start to try and contact the Dark Forest and join them!" I said, shivering.

Red nodded, "Ok. And who's your Dark Spirit Pat?"

Pat shrugs, "I don't know. Never met who it was, I think."

"How about you David? Have you met your Dark Spirit?" Red said, looking over to the grey haired guy.

David nods, "Yes. And she is gone now. I was forced to kill her when she challenged me to a power match, to the death!"

Another shiver ran through me, thinking of what might become of Silver. We may be rivals, but he's like a (slightly annoying) brother to me! I don't want to have to kill him!

Red shivers, "That's just... Um... Weird, I guess I'd put it."

Pat nods, "Now we should go before anyone notices we're missing!"
