A Shadow's Light (Pokémon Fanfiction)

Chapter 22

(I've been meaning to say this for a while, but kept forgeting. This story is basicly my version of Pokemon Adventures HeartGold SoulSilver.)

Gold's P.O.V.

"You're a Rocket, aren't you Silver" I ask quietly.

The question seemed to take Silver by surprise.

I sigh, "Tell me the truth Silver, and I won't get mad."

Silver sighed and nodded slowly, "Yes. I am... And I'm..."

I tilted my head, "You're what?"

"I-I'm their... B-Boss now." He stuttered, turning away.

My eyes widened, "So... You decided to follow in your father's footsteps?" I ask quietly.

Silver whipped around with a look of pure fury in his eyes, and snarled at me, "I am nothing Like my father! How dare you compare me to him!" Pure anger blazed in his silver gaze.

I just stared up at the ceiling, "I didn't mean it like that Silver. You're a good person. And If you lead Team Rocket onto the right path, who knows, I might even join. I was just saying that because Giovanni was a Team Rocket boss. That'a all..."

The fire died and Silver sighed, "Well if that's it. And if it comes to it, I can bring In some Rockets when it comes time to fight the Dark Forest. But we have one problem. We don't know when they're going to attack."

I chuckled, "Don't worry Silv. We've already gotten a spy in there. A Light Spirit named Ridge."

I gasped, "You sent my brother in there to spy on the Dark Forest?!"

Wait. Silver has a brother?

"You have a brother?" I ask.

Silver sighed again and sat down, "No mater. Just do me a favor. Don't tell Crystal about the Rocket thing. She already hates me, and I don't want her to hate me even more... It could ruin my chances of getting on her good side and becoming friends again..."

I look to Amber, "Could you give me some privacy with Silver, Amber?"

Amber nods an uses that weird shadow teleporting thing to leave.

Once the room is silent, I sigh, "Silver. Do you love Crystal?"

Silver nodded, "Yes. Very deeply as well. I would give anything to keep her alive, even if I had to die..." and a little blush appered on his cheeks as he looked away.

I sigh, "Silver. You need to tell her how you feel. It could clear up alot more than you think."

Silver shook his head, "No. What if she doesn't feel the same way? It'll ruin evrything between us. I'm not gonna take that chance. Besides, it wouldn't even work out. She's a Rage Spirit, and I'm a Dark Spirit. There was only one other time in history thatsomething like that happened, and the Rage Spirit ended up dying. I don't want to put Crystal at that risk like that..."

I tilted my head and asked, "Was it Sasha? The former Rage Spirit of Ice?"

"Yeah. How did you know?" Silver asked.

"I've met her before. She's really nice. But who was the Dark Spirit? Do you know?" I ask.

Silver is silent for a little bit, then...

"It was my father. He fell in love with Sasha, Ignoring the fact that they were from different tribes..."

I sat up a bit, "So you're a half blood?"

Silver shook his head, "No... That's Blue and Riverstar. They're my half brothers. We share a father... But I have no idea if they know this, so don't mention it to ether of them. Got it?"

I nod, "Got it."

Someone's P.O.V.

I stalked through the shadows of the Viridian Forest. I am returning to Team Rocket, but there is a chance that they don't even know that I'm still alive. They probably have a new leader now, most likely Archer. He was the most powerful of the Executives, so it was only fair to assume that.

"Oh my Mewtwo!" I turned around to find Amber behind me, stiff as a board, "Giovanni?! Is that really you?"

I nod, "Yes Amber. I'm back. How has Team Rocket been while I was gone?"

Amber relaxed a bit, "Great. But we thought you weren't coming back... Soooooooo..."

"You have a new boss, don't you?" I ask.

Amber nodded, and I continued, "Who is it? Archer?"

To my suprize, Amber shook her head, "Nope. Silver's our leader now."

I was a bit shocked, "Silver? As in my son Silver?"

Amber nodded, "Yep. That's the one. He joined a few months ago, and climbed the ranks very quickly."

"Take me back to base Amber. I want to talk with Silver." I said.

"Silver's out right now, a friend of his is injured."

"I can wait."
