Brown, soft, rocky, hard, dry, wet. As you walk along the earth you feel the dirt in between your toes, the different textures, the way your feet sink into the mud after it has rained, the light imprints our heels make from a morning dew, and the crumbling sensation after a hot, dry day. The hot sand, forcing us to sprint to the water on a hot day at the beach, the cool relief that the water provides, just for us to return to the powdery substance for brief moments of time to retrieve water or a snack from our mothers outstretched hand.
