We all have that one song that we could never forget, one song we will always blast in the car, or jam out to in the shower. But no one ever told me that song could be the sound of someones voice, or the sound of their heart pumping in their chest. No one ever told me that song could be the way thye breathe when they sleep, or how they mumble to themsleves when they are concentrating on something they love.
Every song has an album cover, either a picture of the beach or some intricate design made by graphic artist, but no one ever told me that cover could be the color of ther eyes, or the wrinkles aorund them from smiling or squinting. No one told me it could be their smile, laughing at a joke.
Every song has an ending, and when we reach the ending, we all wish we could hear it again for the first time, just one more time. Just so it won't be truly over, or we press the repeat button, but no one told me that their is no rewind or repeat button for life. Life goes on, and it moves fast, like that one rap song we all have in a playlsit somewhere. We all try to remember where we first heard the song, but it always escapes our memory.
We all have that one song that we could listen to on repeat. Until one day we get tired of hearing it, and so we pick a new song, and eventually forget about the old one. Until one day you are forced to remember it, but by the time you remeber the name of the song, you've forgotten the lyrics, the tempo, the beat, the sound of the artists voice.
I have a song I would kill to hear just one more time, but I know if I were to press the play button, it wouldn't be the same. It will nver be the same, because our emotions are tied to memories, songs, books, movies, people. Play your song, play it until you know it word for word, until you know when the beat drops and the tempo picks up speed, play it until you can rap it almost as good as the original artist. And when you get tired of the song? Play it again.
