Arty's pov~

I lifted myself off the couch, my neck sore from sleeping in such an uncomfortable position last night. I flung my hand over to the side-table where my phone sat on its charging cord. When I released it from my phone, I let it drop to the ground. I needed a new one anyway. I typed in John's number and called him. It's only 7:30 AM but he's a morning person. John answered with a weary voice. "Hey, Arty." He said. Oh, I could just melt right then and there. "Hi...John." He let out a laugh, obviously at my loss for words. "Would you like to go stargazing with me?.." He stayed silent for a moment, and then answered, "Sounds fun, I'll go." I practically screamed, John has always been too busy to do these things with me and he finally agreed. "Alright! I'll drive to your apartment at 8:00!" I hung up the phone and covered my mouth to prevent me from screaming. The hours were long and dreadful, of course. As they always were when I was about to meet to love of my life once more. I combed and styled my hair out of the fresh shower and put on some proper clothes. I grabbed my keys and rushed to my car as the clock hit 7:55 PM. It took me about 3 minutes to get to John's house, I pulled out of the driveway and sped down the road to John's apartment.

John's pov~

I wonder why Arty keeps on asking me to do these things, but I have nothing to do with my life anyway, so why not? I checked my watch, 7:57 PM. He should be here any minute now. I grabbed the keys to my apartment and went out, locking the door behind me. As soon as I came out of the door, I smelt smoke. But like the bad kind, you know, the kind of smoke that you smoke. So much for the smoke-free signs pasted on the front windows of the building. I covered my nose with my palm, hoping to make the wretched smell go away. I rushed over to the door to the outside of the building and went out. 7:58 PM. Maybe his car was down the road now? I shoved my keys into my front pocket as he pulled into the gravel driveway. I wish I hadn't said yes anymore, I have the feeling this is going to go badly. Without any words, I walked over to his car and got in the passenger's side. As quick as I got in, Arty flung his arm around me and said in a flirtatious tone, "So, babe, why don't we go out for dinner first?" I took a minute to reply, still surprised by the "babe" doesn't he think I like girls? "Well, the sun is already setting...so maybe another time." I covered my face to hide the obvious blush in the disappearing sunlight. Just his skin touching mine was giving me butterflies. I heard the stones crunch underneath the tires of Arty's car as he drove away from my apartment to the local park.
