Carlton's pov~

Well, I'm screwed now. John's going to know. Arty already somehow knows. My life will be over. John will hate me, definitely. "I don't like him, Arty, we're just friends." John looked away from me with a sad look when I said that,  "Besides, why do I have to tell you anything? This should be between me and John." Arty narrowed his eyes and grabbed the back of John's shirt collar, "He's not going anywhere until you say right here, in front of our faces!" John rolled his eyes. "Fine. John, I love you." I said in the most sarcastic way possible. Arty rolled his eyes and pushed John into me. With that, he left. John wrapped his arms around me and looked at my eye again, "Do you want to cover that up? We can run to the store for some foundation tomorrow." I nodded, and he let go and walked away. I felt kind of sad about that, honestly. I went over to the front door and locked it. Just in case anymore Arty's try to get in. I went over and sat on the couch again, pulling a light blanket over my body.

~~~~~~~~
The soft light of the morning gleamed in from the blinds, John was in the kitchen making us coffee. I slowly got up from the couch, just so I didn't get light headed. John turned around as the floor boards squeaked under my feet. "I'm going to check out my eye. I can barely see." I said, he nodded and turned back around. I walked over to the bathroom, my whole body aching from last night. When I lifted my head to look in the mirror, I gasped. It was swollen and purple with some hints of black. But it for sure looked ugly. I came out of the bathroom, "There's no way in hell any type of makeup is going to cover this, John." I told him, while pointing at my eye. He looked at me and said, "Well... We can get a eyepatch?" He continued, "Besides, it makes you look tough, which you're not!" I sighed, he obviously wasn't getting it. "What if my dad sees? He'll freak out." I replied. He told me I could stay until it heals enough so it's not that visible and I agreed.
"Carlton," John said in a serious tone all of a sudden, making the tension in the room almost unbearable. He continued, "Do you actually love me?" I widened my eyes, "Only as a friend...haha.." I said, my voice trembling. He walked over to where I was sitting on the couch and slightly leaned over me. "You know you can tell me anything, Carlton." He must've realized he was looking intimidating because he sat on the couch beside me and looked at me with some kind of strange look. "What? Do you want to make Arty jealous or something..?" I said. John raised his eyebrows and got up, standing over me once again. "No! That was never my intention at all, Carlton." He crossed his arms and walked away. Oops.
