Taylor Hawkins is the reason I wanted to be a drummer. He's the reason I want to be a musician, period. When I heard his vocals on Cold Day in the Sun, I was amazed. From all the stories I've heard and the interviews I've seen, he just seemed like a cool guy to be around.
I was playing video games when I heard the news of his passing and I was devestated. I went back and I listened to a lot of Foo Fighters songs but I wasn't paying attention to Dave's vocals or Nate's bass like I normally would. I was focused only on Taylor playing the drums. One of the guys that had inspired me to be a drummer was gone. I was hurt, and I couldn't even imagine what the band was going through. I was so glad when I watched SNL and they dedicated it to him, and watching all of the performances where someone put "for Taylor" on the drumset.
Taylor touched a lot of people and he will be missed.
