okay, I'm extremely sorry for the amount of tea-making and tea-drinking they do in this fic.
Additionally, I'm aware all of my fics have stargazing and the wilderness encompassed in them, but for this, I HAVE A GOOD REASON!
They didn't have many entertaining things to do back in the 1850s, and I wanted to build this up a little before they become a thing.
AND Louis has been living in the woods since god knows how long, so he's ought to form a bond with his surroundings.
Thirdly, since none of yall picked up. This is the story of the peace and war rings couple from Lilac. This doesn't equal reincarnation, but this is just their story told through my preferred characters.
And lastly, sorry for disappearing. Had the worst writer's block since none of yall comment anymore 😔💔
Jokes aside, I was battling for my life with my endsems 😍
Anyways, happy reading!

The following morning, Harry awoke to the sun strewing about its rays impudently through the tiny gaps of Louis' flimsy windows. It was annoying, it was exasperating, but it was what it was. Louis, surprisingly, was still asleep when Harry finally willed himself to get out of the nest. Curled in on his side, Louis slept as serenely as a baby. Harry felt like an old pervert creeping on young maidens, yet blinded by the beauty in front of his eyes, he took in each unique feature of the alpha that was unknown to him up until now. Harry noticed the cluster of freckles dotting the skin near the left side of his nose. He noticed the way Louis' nose scrunched up with every minuscule moment of his body. It was endearing, and in the early morning hours, Harry blamed it all on his bleary mind.
He willed himself to climb out of the nest, observing the neat alignment of pillows separating their bodies with a sense of despondency weighing down his shoulders. By the time he had gotten around to boiling water on the stove, Louis had started stirring to consciousness— not that Harry kept stealing glances backwards to check on the severely-wounded alpha. And sure enough, when he turned around with two steaming cups of tea in his hands, Louis had already awoken, staring at him with half-lidded eyes. He gave the alpha a tiny smile, placing the cups just a few inches away from the nest before he rushed forward to help Louis.
Louis grunted, disgruntled undoubtedly, but still accepted his help, shuffling to the top of the nest to lean his body weight against the wall behind the pallet. "You know, I'm barely hurt, not immobile. You ought to stop with these crazy instincts of yours to help me walk and sit." Still grumbling, Louis, nonetheless, accepted the cup from Harry's outstretched hand. Harry could barely hide the smile behind the rim of his cup as he walked away from the nest to open up the windows. "I asked you something," Louis spoke again when he had flipped open the windows, letting the early sunlight inside the otherwise dimly-lit room.
"I know." His response was noncommittal as he reentered the nest, avoiding Louis' eyes that seemed to be following every little movement of his. "Good."
The silence that stretched consequently was comfortable in a way that Harry wouldn't have ever envisioned— especially considering that Louis was an alpha, and never once in his life had Harry found an alpha's presence comforting. He was too focused on the lone scratch embossing the closed door, and Louis, Louis was squinting against the dull sunlight coming in through the open windows. "How about we go out today? I feel like it's going to rain at around midday. I could take you around to see the best of Zemira." Harry's initial thought had been to agree immediately, but then he remembered how there was a troop of guards searching for him.
"I-I do not feel like walking all the way to the town." He stuttered out after a beat or two, his hand clenched around the sheets near his thighs. "Do you really think the best of Zemira is in the town vicinity? Of course not." Louis let out a short laugh, standing up from the heap of sheets encompassing his frame. "Then?"
