Five Years Later

Raven had been set free from the clutches of her father.  She had finished High school and had started studying to be a nurse practitioner while she worked at a dinner.  She spent most of her time in the library or at the St Mary orphanage.  The two twins that she'd taken care of had never gotten adopted so she visited them a lot.  Soon when she was financially  stable enough she would adopt them. She had a boyfriend his name was Dave. He was really controlling and he didn't approve of the fact that all her friends were men.  Yes, she was still friends with all of the boys except Asher since he'd ghosted her and she never knew why. Darius was a successful business man in the technological world.  Colton and Iris were in the music industry.  They were considered to top producer and Manager in the country.  Ace was the top business man in the entertainment industry.   They all met up every Friday at one of Ace's top clubs Flying Raven. Yes you guess it he'd named it after the red head. Byron had left the country but he still kept in touch with his best friend.  Raven walked into the club greeting the bouncer Kevin.

"Hey Kev," she greeted.

"Hey Raven," he greeted.

"Am I the first one here?" she asked.

"It seems so," he nodded.

She smiled gratefully and walked into the club. She went straight to the balcony and took a sit. She ate some of the snacks while she waited. The first person to arrive was Darius he was always punctual for these things.

"Hey there Short cake," he pulled her in for a hug and kissed her cheek.

"Hi D," she giggled.

"How's school by the way?" Darius asked.

"School's great I'm coping I have Mid terms soon so I'll have to miss some of our club get togethers,"  she smiled sadly.

"Don't sweat we'll probably come visit you to see how you're doing," he smiled.

"Is there a Mrs?" She teased.

"Ha you're funny, no.  Though I guess I need to get a girlfriend soon," he sighed running a hand through his hair.

"Why'd you say that?" Raven asked.

"Work is pressuring me to find a wife so I'm guaranteed an heir,"  he sighed.

"Oh I know there's this girl she supper sweet I'm sure if you approached it openly you guys could hit it off," Raven smiled.

"I'll come by and visit and you can introduce us," he smiled.

That was when Iris and Colton came burging in arguing about a boy band they were managing and producing.

"I'm telling you we need a fifth member all great bands have five members,"  Iris said sitting next to Raven giving her a kiss on the cheek then fist bumping Darius

"The boys have already bonded bringing in another two guys is going to cause friction,"  Colton shook his head kissing Raven's cheek and shaking Darius' hand

"Can you two not fight about boy bands," Ace sighed walking into the room.

"Very well so how's everyone?"  Colton nodded.

"I actually have a surprise for you guys," Ace said nervously scratching the back of his neck.

"What surprise?" Raven asked.

"You may come in," Ace called out.

The door seemed to open in slow motion as everybody waited to see what or who would enter. The room was filled with gasps and curse words when they saw their long lost friend. There was Asher Wilde in all his glory.  The playfulness in his eyes had disappeared and he had a scar across his cheek. He smiled at all of them and to someone who hadn't seen his real smile they'd think it was real but everyone in that room they knew he was faking it.

"A-Asher?" Raven stuttered shocked.

"Hey Ray Ray," he smiled.

"Oh my gosh you're really back," Iris chuckled hugging his best friend.

"This is fantastic," Colton hugged him next.

Darius walked up to Asher and looked him up and down before punching him in the face.  Asher stumbled back wiping the blood off his face.  Everyone around gasped in shock because Darius wasn't violent unless it was necessary.

"That's for leaving without an explanation," Darius glared.

"Didn't you get the letter?" Asher groaned out.

"Oh I got your stupid letter but it doesn't make up for not saying goodbye in person," Darius glared harder.

"I guess I deserved the punch," he nodded.

Darius rolled his eyes before pulling Asher into a hug. The Taller boy wouldn't admit it out loud but he'd been worried that his best friend wouldn't make it back alive.  Here he was standing in front of him acting like nothing had happened it pissed him off.  The last person left was Raven she'd been watching all of them hug Asher and she still couldn't believe he was back. She'd loved him. He was her best friend and she'd loved him then he just disappeared on her no explanation.  At least the others got a letter she just got abandonment.

"Welcome home, excuse me," she muttered when Asher looked at her before she went to walk out of the room.

"Ray wait," Asher grabbed her arm.

"Don't you dare touch me," she pulled her arm away.

"Talk to me Rav," he begged.

"Now you want to talk?" she asked slightly above a whisper. "You abandon me for five years when I needed you. Completely ghost me and you come back and expect me to act like nothing happened? F*ck you Asher Wilde,"

Raven stormed out of the VIP room slamming the door behind her. She ran out the bar towards the train station. She was going home. She couldn't stand to be in the same room as him because she knew all the pain she held in for so long would come pouring out. She lived with Dave in his apartment which was close to the university.  She walked into the apartment.  Dave was waiting for her seated on the couch.

"Your little club night ended early today, why?" he asked.

"I need to study for Mid terms," she shrugged.

She took a shower then got changed into her evening wear.  She sat on her bed with her books and her laptop that she got from Ace as a birthday present. She spent the rest of the night studying and fell asleep at 3 AM.  She woke up at 6 AM and made a cup of coffee. After coffee she took a shower and got dressed for her lecture and walked out of the apartment. What she saw caused her to freeze in shock .
