Raven was seated next to Bryon and his crew in the cafeteria. Darius and the boys walked in. She met their eyes before looking down at her hands. She could feel the tears in her eyes as she thought of how she'd finally found a family that wanted her but now she had to distance herself. She felt an overwhelming presence towering over her.

"Oh look it's the Knights," Bryon taunted.

"Raven may we please have a word with you?" Colton spoke in a respective manner.

"Sure," Bryon said smirking smugly "Remember you belong to me,"

Bryon whispered grabbing her thigh and squeezing hard causing Raven to flinch and nod. She stood up and followed the boys out into a classroom. She kept her head down.

"What's going on Raven? Why do you keep going back to that abusive wanker!" Asher yelled angrily.

"Dude don't yell at her!" Iris defended the petite red head pulling her into his arms.

"Raven we can help just talk to us," Darius sighed.

"I'm sorry I caused you trouble," she mumbled looking at the ground tears in her eyes.

" Hey listen to me you're not a burden you're our friend we love you and we're worried," Asher said lifting her head and wiping her tears with his thumb.

"I was sold to Bryon by my dad until he can pay of his debt which is why I need to stay away from you guys just for a little while," she explained looking at all of them apologetically.

"How much does he owe?" Colton asked curiously.

"Five Grand," she sighed.

"We understand," Darius sighed pulling the girl into a hug and kissing her forehead.

She walked out of the room after hugging all of them. The boys sighed sadly looking at the ground. Raven walked back to Byron and sat down quietly next to him. He smirked at her patting her thigh. She looked up and saw the boys walking to their cars in the parking lot and she really wanted to run after them and not care about what her father would say. The bell rang and she went to her next class. She sat in her usual place at the back of the class. She focused on the lesson. When the lessons were over she went to her work place. She worked in a gas station store. After work she went to get the twins at the Wilde residence. She knocked on the door and Ace was the one to open the door.

"Hey Ray?"  the calmer twin smiled.

"Hey Ace I'm here for the twins," she smiled at him.

"Oh they're with Asher in the nursery," Ace smiled at the girl.

Raven smiled back and walked past Ace towards the nursery.  She walked in and found Asher sleeping on the arm chair the twins fast asleep as well in his arms. She smiled at how cute they were.  Raven picked up the diaper bag and the carriers.  The petite girl placed the babies gently into their carrier not wanting to wake up Asher.  She walked out of the house saying good bye to Ace before she walked out the door. Raven took a Taxi home she snuck the kids  into her room. Her father was asleep, drunk on the couch.  She made him supper and made formula for the twins.  The sixteen year old girl did her homework then She went to bed hoping for a better tomorrow.

After she arrived at the school with the twins for the evaluation Bryon marched up to her and slapped her across the face.  She fell onto the ground holding her cheek. No  one really looked at them deciding to mind their own business.  She looked up at the boy towering over her her eyes hard as she glared at him. He was seething as he looked down at her.

"Where'd you get the money?" he demanded.

"What money?" she bit back.

"The 5 Grand?" he glared.

"Byron what are you talking about?" she asked confused.

That was when she noticed Darius and the other boys walking towards them. She glanced nervously at Bryon scared that he'd tell her dad but he was still glaring at her which caused her to back away.  Darius cleared his throat getting Byron's attention. The brunette boy turned around glaring at the group of boys as it seemed to click in his mind.

"Of course it was you," he rolled his eyes walking away.

"What's going on?" Raven asked still confused  as to what was happening.

"We paid off your father's debt," Iris said like it was no big deal.

"Why would you do that?" she demanded.

"To protect you from Bryon?" Colton explained confused.

"Oh my gosh guys there are worse things than Byron he was protecting me,"  she defended.

Raven ran after Byron.  The two had known each other since middle school.  Sure the boy had hurt her but she knew how his father was like. He saw friendship and love as a weakness. When her father had offered Raven as collateral  she was supposed to be used as a slave but Byron offered to take her and use her so as to keep her safe. She found Byron in the boys locker room.

"Byron?" she whispered.

"F*ck off Ray," he said not looking up.

"They were just trying to help they don't know the full story," she tried to defend her new friends.

"You don't get it Raven you know what my dad will do to you now!"  he yelled standing up causing her jump away.

"They paid the debt I'll be fine,"  she shook her head not meetings his eyes.

"We both know that's a lie Rave, Dammit!"  Bryon yelled hitting the locker in frustration.

"How long?" she asked.

"I don't know a month maybe," he shrugged sitting down.

"Hey thanks for protecting me for this long I'll be fine now," she smiled at him sitting next to the boy.

Byron looked at her. The two  had been best friends for as long as he could remember and he'd hurt her which destroyed him. He hadn't even finished because he knew how wrong it was to hurt the only true friend he had.  She gave him a warm smile and tears welled up in his eyes as he pulled her into his arms hugging her tightly.  She hugged him back tears falling from her eyes as well because she knew after a month she'd never see him again. The two best friends held each other for  some time until  Byron pulled away.

"I'm sorry for what I almost did," he apologized.

"It's okay I never really blamed you for what happened," she smiled.
