Sickness

Lungthorn:

Lungthorn, in this world, is a sickness where your lungs clog up with vines. To get this sickness, you have to interact with a plantix, figs, or a slimepup. It's infectious, to get it one of the creatures that were listed have to give you an infection. The poison will spread to the lungs, where the infection will begin to grow. It's more rare for Slimepups to give you this infection. 

When getting this, there's no chance you can survive as the vine will fill one of your lungs, then the other and crawl their way up to your throat, then eventually begin to show through your eyes, mouth, ears, nose anywhere. The symptoms of this are barfing up fruit, vines, or thorns, and sometimes blood. You would feel like you would be softly stabbed by needles every time you walk, and you could find dead twigs growing in your hair. 

As this sickness progresses, it will begin to tear away the skin, and your blood will be gray. Soon enough, your body will rot, and end up as a pile of thorns. The only way to help the infection spread slower, is to have the person drink poison, or loads for fertilizer, to kill the plants. 

If you touch any of the thorns the body part you touched it with will immediately become swollen. Thorns will stick out and look awkward, tearing anything that is too close to them. When going near someone with this infection, make sure to have a hazmat suit on, a gas mask and gloves to avoid becoming infected yourself. It's hard to get this infection, but here's some ways to stay out of trouble. 

You will either die once you get infected by this sickness, or you will be trapped in a cacoon for about an hour, before coming back out as the Gootraxian that infected you.

1. If a slimepup is biting you, move away slowly. If they bite you on the neck you may get the infection. 

2. If you see a plantix, run without looking back. Don't tempt it, or even interact. They can easily give you the infection, usually they aim for the throat. 

3. If you see a figs, splash water on them. They'll no longer by able to fly, which gives you more time to run.

Beacon-itis:

Beacon-itis, a very fatal sickness, can be accidently obtained in a couple ways. You can get this sickness from Lantern Shorks, Shorks, Ghostfoxs', Panthers, and Nightcrawlers. The way they give it to you is by scratching your neck, or biting it. You can also pick it up by ingesting the certain Gootraxians' goo. 

Once you get this sickness, many things will start to happen. The first thing is you will have a major headache, then your eyes with begin to glow a bright yellow. After the first stages, your skin will start to rip and tear, showing that everything inside of you is now a bright glowing yellow. After you get to that point, you can't cure the sickness. Your skin will then soon all fall off, leaving you as a bright yellow creature. 

Then, you will begin to cough violently. What you cough changes, from blood, to shards of yellow glowing crystals. 

Ways to avoid getting this sickness are: 

1) Avoid all the Gootraxians listed. 

2) Be sure to carry a Med kit with you at all times, as well as Bandages and poison extractor. 

3) If you are bit, then remain calm, freaking out will make the process go faster. 

4) Make a healing potion, to heal yourself the sickness while you still can.

5) Wear a Hazmat suit, so it makes it harder for you to be bit to begin with.

Cave-flu

Cave-flu is a coronavirus transmitted via Kaijunium. Kaijunium-based Gootraxians can sometimes carry the disease, but it is very rare as their immune systems are built to recognize the virus. Cave-flu sticks to the Kaijunium, but seismic activity and contact with the crystals can cause the cave-flu virus to flake off of it and become airborne, then entering the lungs of humans. 

Symptoms of Cave-flu include coughing, shortness of breath, sneezing, joint pain, headaches, and (in children, elderly, and people with especially weak immune systems) sometimes even death if left untreated. The secret to a cure is thought to have been unlocked, but the cure is in its early stages and is considered too large of a risk to administer to anyone yet. For now, it is recommended that an infected person is to stay at home to avoid an outbreak, get plenty of rest, and drink lots of fluids. 

Laminax Facility is beginning to take multiple measures to prevent the spread of Cave-flu. The use of masks and hazmat suits, especially for miners that work in the cave, is beginning enforcement. A sterilization schedule of the Kaijunium has also been recently created to eliminate the virus on the crystals. Testing for Cave-flu is required weekly, as well.

Polo Decease:

Polo Decease, a very painful sickness, is spread in a few different ways. The most common way to get this sickness is by accidently stepping in, or drinking the "Toxic Water". Another way is by getting bit by any type of Shork. [Shork, Lemon Shork, Kawii Shork, Watermelon Shork, Lantern Shork.] 

Once you get this sickness, it starts taking effect immediately. The effects of this sickness aren't anything to joke about. First, your skin will slowly start to pull away, getting basically disintegrated. After that effect takes place, your limbs will that to get very sore, before they slowly began to fall off. If that wasn't bad enough, your eyes will pop out of their sockets, making you blind.

You will either die once infected with this sickness, or, if your lucky, once the sickness takes complete control of your body, you will become whatever Gootraxian infected you. If the water infected you, you will become a regular Shork.

There are no cures for this disease.
