1100 BC - Greece

It had been six months since I had been changed. The man who attacked me and changed my life forever - Brenner, he said his name was - had taken me to the middle of the woods somewhere up the Grecian mountains. It took an entire week for my body to process the change from human to vampire. I still couldn't quite believe this had happened to me or that vampires even existed.

I also couldn't believe the amount of power I now possessed. It had made feeding much easier. Discovering my powers hadn't been easy though. When I woke up from the change, Brenner had told me about what I now was. He also told me about how he had heard of the beautiful viking princess coming to marry Adras and he wanted her for himself. He had changed me to be his mate.

When Brenner attempted to force himself on me I panicked. I was so scared and couldn't breathe and all I wanted was for him to stop. I told him to stop. I ordered him to stop. And to my surprise he listened. He froze in his spot and it took me a few minutes to realize that he had done so because I told him to. I tested it a few more times, commanding him to do a few different things. And when I realized it was truly me that had done this, that had made him do those things.

I commanded him to go outside and light himself on fire.

It took me two more weeks to search out my sisters. I missed them and wanted to see them again. I had a pretty good handle on my powers and thirst so I figured it would be safe to seek them out now. My first stop was back at Adras' house. I snuck up the side of the cliffs into my old bedroom hoping to make my way to my sisters rooms. I was surprised to find my fiancé asleep in my bed. Adras had tear tracks on his face and seemed to be in a fitful state of sleep. I stepped close to the bed, reaching out one pale cold finger to lightly trace the bridge of his nose. I hated that I was never going to be able to love him as he deserved.

Leaving Adras to sleep after wishing him a final goodbye, I quickly made my way to Margareta's room. Expecting to find my sister up reading, I was shocked to see that her room was empty. The scent of her perfume fading and all of her belongings had been cleared out. Crossing the hallway to Helga's room I found it in a similar state. Before I could leave the room, the door opened and a serving girl appeared. Not giving her time to scream, I pushed her against the wall next to the door and covered her mouth with my hand.

"Do not scream." I commanded. "Where have my sisters been taken?"

The girls eyes were wide with fear at seeing me, I suppose they all figured I was dead or had ran away in the night.

She finally answered, "Your father took them home after we found all of the blood in your room. Everyone assumed you had been murdered. Lord Adras has been beside himself with grief."

     "Home." I whispered.

The girl was crying and praying now, "Please don't kill me demoness."

Sighing I left her with one last command, "You will forget this encounter ever happened."

Present Day

The days passed quickly. Jasper and I had come up with a plan to keep Bella out of the action while still drawing the newborns to where we would have the advantage. The wolves also continued to train with us everyday, however they never asked to see me fight again. Today is the last day before the big battle. Jacob is taking Bella up the mountain today and meeting Edward at the campsite. The others were out hunting Bambi or something to fuel up. I on the other hand had a meeting with the wolf pack.

Waiting at the clearing where we had been training I waited for the Alpha to show himself. The large Quileute Alpha appeared out of the trees flanked by two other men. Boys really. The rest of his pack remained in wolf form and surrounding covered the mountain side. It was cute, to see them act as though they could stop me if it came down to it. I had no doubt they could take on an ordinary vampire - Carlisle had told me about Laurent - but I was no ordinary vampire.

"You must be Sam," I drawled, "it's a pleasure to finally meet this version of you."

Sam's voice was deep when he spoke, "We aren't here to make friends. I want to know why the Cullens had to call you for this fight, what your powers are, and how soon after tomorrow you are leaving."

I hummed, "Straight to the point. I like that Sam."

"Answer the questions." One of the boys next to him snapped at me.

"Oh good! A volunteer!" I clapped my hands together and took pleasure in the way they flinched at the sound, "You see Sam, my powers are a bit difficult to explain without a demonstration."

Looking directly at the tall man on Sam's left I allowed my powers to flow over me, "Come here."

He did as I asked, joining me across the clearing.

"Jump up and down on one foot. Stop. Sit down. Sing the ABC's backwards."

Everything I told him to do, he did. I could even see the rest of the wolves fighting back smiles. At my next commands however, they stopped laughing.

"Stand up. Punch your Alpha in the face."

Without hesitation he did so. Sam looking shocked that his second in command would do such a thing.

     "Stop breathing."

I waited until the shackles began to raise on the wolves backs and I knew if I let it continue any longer, the boy would either die or they would attack.

     "Breathe."

Finished with my demonstration, I watched as the boy lay on the ground gasping for air. The pack looked at me, a mixture of fear and awe on their faces.

     "What was that?" Sam asked.

"That, my dear Alpha friend, was my gift. It's the reason the Cullens called me here. I can make anybody do anything I want with just my voice. It comes in handy when dealing with things such as an enemy army or the vampire kings."

"As for your last question," I continued, "I won't be here any longer than I have to be. You're not the only one who has people they want to protect Sam."

I left without another word. Hoping that despite my little display, the wolves would still show up on the battlefield tomorrow.
