I open my eyes to see snow falling from the sky. A snowflake falls in my hand. While my hair begins to collect snow bits. The cold begins to take a toll on my body. I start to shiver. Where even am I? Tall snowy pine trees towered over me as I sat in the snow. A forest, perhaps? A gust of chilling wind goes past my body. I observe my surrounding. I stood up tossing and turning my head looking for something or someone. But all I see is snow, cold and damp snow. Nothing in sight but trees and snow. Another breeze goes straight through me. I fall to the ground, confused and scared.
It's freezingly cold, to the point I can't think straight. My head is slightly beating. I sink into the snow, I can feel my heart beating in my chest. I start breathing heavily, so confused about why or how I'm here. Suddenly I hear footsteps treading through the snow. My head shoots up to see a figure. It was disturbing, just a black figure. A black void is the best way to describe it. A black void in the shape of a human, only a few feet away from me. What made it worse was instead of eyes all it had was glowing orbs. One orb was brown like chocolatey forests and the other was a deep blue like a raging river.
I stared blankly at the figure, it was unsettling to look at but I continued to do so. It was like I was drawn to it. I couldn't take my eyes off it. So odd the way it was fixated on me. I kind of just sat there speechless until the figure started moving toward me. I frantically struggled to get up. I fearfully scooted through the snow only while the figure slowly approached me. It advanced as if I was a small animal and it wasn't trying to spook me. For some reason it was comforting. The figure seemed frightening to the sight but it was warming and kind. I watched as it put its hand out. I hesitated but chose to take the creature's hand. Flash.
Did nothing happen? The figure was still there, staring at me. The warmth of their hand melted the freezing ice and snow from my body. When that flash happened something changed. It wasn't just a figure, it seemed more like an actual person. They helped me off the ground. The person proceeded to hug me, and I was completely thunderstruck to see the snow melting away around me. Like this person just made everything better. I have zero clue why but there's this peculiar connection between this person and I. I gazed in amazement to see flowers blooming around me. Trees growing tall. Soft grass runs underneath my feet.
I skipped into the flowers and closed my eyes. But as soon as I opened them everything was gray, the flowers, the grass, the trees, even the sky. I jolt up to see the figure morphing. Jet black arms flail around as if they were struggling. The ground around me starts crumbling. The grass beneath the person shattered like glass. They fell into the hole, I immediately tried to help. I grasp their hand but they let go, falling farther away from me. I felt so obligated to help them, it made no sense at all. I'm running from the exploding ground. When another figure appeared. It's a glowing white, with piercing green eyes. My head is running circles around me. I start feeling dizzy as I see more and more figures. One with hazel orbs, another with blue. All of the heights differ amongst them. They all start reaching for me, I start freaking out but I can't move a muscle.
Right before they all make contact with my skin, one of them says, "You'll regret leaving."
Then they all meet my skin. The pounding in my head comes back, it's much worse this time. As if someone took a sledgehammer to my head repeativly. Without realizing it I'm screaming. Out of nowhere, I begin seeing flashes of sequences. A gate. Fire and smoke. A black figure in a lake. A small person lying on the ground, seeming in pain. Letters with sigils. I'm standing with two others one a black figure and the other glowing white. Dancing with another figure in a ballroom. A library. The viewing court. Then everything went black.
I opened my eyes once more only to hear the sound of knocking. It was a dream? No a nightmare.
"Hermione! Hermione! Are you there? It's 8:32, we gotta go," I presume it was Georginna.
I abruptly jump up in a cold sweat. I started hyperventilating and breathing heavily. I hear the door rustling, then it opens. There was Georginna from what I could observe, she picked the lock. Her eyes urgently moved to me. She looked worried sick.
"Oh my god. Hermione are you ok? You look sick. What happened?" she bombarded me with questions.
I do my best to talk but it comes out breathy, "I-I had a n-nightmare."
Georginna sat next to me on my bed, rubbing my shoulder. She was so comforting and considerate. I'm still breathing heavily and my head is still pounding. Georginna continued to say things like "It's ok," and "takes as much time as you need." She really is the best.
I finally compose myself enough to say, "It was a nightmare, a confusing one."
"Confusing how?" Georginna asked.
"There was this figure it was like a black void. I was originally scared. It was snowy and cold. But the figure hugged me and the snow melted and I wasn't scared anymore. Then there were flowers everywhere. Oh, and it had one blue eye and one brown!" I rambled on.
"Woah, woah, slow your roll girl! So you were in a snowy place, and there's a black figure?" she inquired.
"With blue and brown eyes," I basically interrupted.
"Yeah, Yeah. They hugged you and the snow melted. Maybe it all represents something?" Georginna suggested, "But go on."
"It felt so warm but then it all turned gray. And holes formed in the grass, and the figure fell. I really tried to help them but. . . they let go of my hand. I looked up and saw white figures. . . One of them said something before touching my arm. "You'll regret leaving." Then when they did touch me I saw flashes," A sudden ache formed in my head. I put my hand on my forehead to cradle the pain.
"Hermione, it's gonna be ok. I promise," she reassures me.
"There was a gate. Then fire and smoke. A black figure in a lake. And I think a child whimpering. Letters, and next it was me standing with two figures one black and the other white. Oh after that I was dancing with another white figure. A library. Lastly, it was the viewing court," I finished explaining.
Georginna grabbed my hands then pulled me into a hug. She explained to me that dreams and nightmares often have deeper meanings. She held me close. Georginna helped me compose myself once more. It was now 8:48 a.m. we had twelve minutes to meet Liam at the viewing court. We quickly made our way out of my room.
