Ace's pov:

Just when I thought I was getting her out of my head there she was, sitting in class batting her pretty little lashes at me. When we made eye contact she blushed and quickly turned away, ''cute'' I thought to myself. Fuck what am I thinking? I tried my best to place my focus on anyone or anything but her for the rest of the period. Last thing I need or want is a girl in my life. After a long day of school and hockey practice I decided to take a break and scroll through my phone. Suddenly I received a notification on Instagram ''s.o.p.h.i.a started following you'', so that's her name... I wonder why she followed me after I was a jerk to her. Whatever she's probably just like those other girls who throw themselves at me. I decided to think nothing of her following me but after a few hours I grew curious. I request to follow her and a few minutes later she accepts. I click on her page and look at her first and only post. I can't help but think she looks beautiful. I click on the comments and notice most of them are guys simping over her. I sigh. I have the urge to text her but push it down, I continue reminding myself to stop thinking about her.

At school a few days later;

Shit, I'm late. As I'm racing down the halls I notice Sophia is too. Just as we are about to pass each other she stumbles and falls, dropping all of her books in the process. I start to walk past her but can't help but feel a pang of guilt. I pick up her books as she gets up. She thanked me and I walked away because I told myself not to think of her anymore and the more I see her the more I think of her.

Back at the dorm:

''Hey man, you've been a little off lately. Everything alright?'' if anyone else asked me that I'd flat out ignore them but Josh is the only one I really open up to. ''Just this girl I can't get out of my head. Its fucking annoying.'' he looks thunderstruck, not that I blame him. He knows that I never have any interests except hockey. ''So who's the lucky girl?'' he asks. Instead of saying anything I pull out my phone and show him her profile. His eyes grow wide ''shit, what a coincidence, that's my sister's best friend and roommate. I can definitely get you her number.'' he smirks. I briefly consider his offer but turn him down. He looks disappointed and I appreciate him caring for me but this girl, she's different and the last thing I need is having to worry about her.

About an hour later I hear Josh on the phone smiling with a mischievous look on his face. When he spots me he quickly hangs up. ''What the hell was that about?'' I ask skeptically. He shrugs and says ''don't worry about it.''. Well that was weird.

The next morning:

We have a big game today so I wake up early and check on all my teammates to make sure they're all prepared. Josh has been acting a little suspicious but I decide to let it go and concentrate on the upcoming game.

A few hours later:

It's finally time to head out on the ice, I hear music and people cheering. I turn my head to look at the audience and ''what the fuck is she doing here?'' I turn my head to see Josh smiling at me, fuck I should've known he'd pull something like this.
