Ace's pov:

A few days later

Sophia and I arrive at the police station along with my mom and little brother Jack. I told Sophia she didn't have to come with us but she insisted. While we were waiting Sophia held my hand reassuringly, a part of me thinks she's more nervous about this than I am.

A few minutes later a police officer greets us and brings us into a small room. ''Do you have any idea of who the gang is or what they wanted from you?'' the officer questions. I answer him with everything I know, which is that they're associated with my dad and wanted to do something to hurt him, jokes on them because my dad could care less about me. The following questions are simple and don't take much time to answer.

An hour later:

I drove my mom and brother back home and am about to drop Sophia off. I want to stay with her longer but my ribs are honestly killing me.

''I know you're in pain, come inside and I'll make you some tea and give you some pain killers.'' Sophia assured me. I follow her into her dorm and sit at the small marble table. She sets down the tea and pills and makes sure I'm comfortable. I've never had anyone care for me this much, I'm beyond grateful to have her in my life.

I attempt to get up to clean the dishes but in the process I bang one of my injuries and start to bleed. Sophia jolts up worriedly, ''Go sit on my bed I'll get the first aid kit.'' she said. I did as she instructed and walked into her room and I couldn't help but look around, her room was filled with various pictures and posters. As I heard her approaching I sat down on her soft white comforter covering her bed.

The closer she got to me the look on her face grew more and more nervous. ''Is something wrong?'' I asked her worriedly. She gave me a nervous smile, ''um well in order for me to c-clean your wounds you have to r-remove your s-shir-t-t.'' she stammered. I chuckle as I cautiously remove my shirt. She bits her lip, face flushing and her brown honey eyes avoiding mine. She gently cleans my injuries, making sure not to inflict any pain on me. When she finishes she appears to be more relaxed, she looks up at me and softly lifts herself onto my lap. She hugs me tightly and begins to sniffle. I rub her back reassuringly and ask ''hey, what's wrong love?'' it takes her a few moments but she leans back and gazes into my eyes, ''I just.. I thought I was going to lose you, I hadn't heard from you in a w-week and then you show up at my door with blood all over you.. I was terrified. I'm just so glad t-that you're ok and I can't even e-express how happy I am that w-we're together.'' she sobs. I caress her cheek, wrapping my arms even more tightly around her because I feel like if I don't I'll lose her again, I've never regretted anything more. I don't want to ever be away from her for that long again. Pressing my body as close as possible to hers I whispered in her ear ''I'll never do that to you again, I'm so sorry, you mean the world to me and more and I don't want to ever make you cry again, I know I can't promise not to hurt you but I can promise to always protect you, care for you and cherish you like you deserve to be.'' Her face brightens up and she kisses me contently. What did I do to deserve her?-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
