eight boys made their way towards the mansion most probably aware of the trouble that could be caused by their mistake, they walked ahead not knowing the hungry depraved spirits waited for over a decade for this to happen.

they all held the torches tightly in their hands forging ahead.

as soon as they reached the portal they ceased their quest. looking at the large door their mind raced through many things. the door was massive and had carvings of the rituals performed by people to impress the evil spirits.

if I were to be there I would probably rush back and never turn back but the boys had something else in their minds.

the mansion seemed to have been known for the famished souls who lived there and were waiting for their desires to come true. the wind blew across the place humming mysteriously causing the huge door to shudder slightly.

as soon as one of the boys touched the door it immediately opened followed by a faint chuckle as if it was welcoming them. they all looked at each other before marching forward.

the mansion was in a dreadful shape, there was a faint smell of death hanging in the chilled darkness of night.

"okay now let's go" hongjoong twirled the torch to be greeted by a sight of ripped curtains, old portraits, gaps in the floor, spiders, and moving shadows on the other floor.

he knew that was the right place.

"yeah, that's what we are here for, right mingi?"

the younger one seemed a little too lost staring at the old chandelier hanging there for centuries, pieces of glass scattered everywhere, and the bats sleeping upside down just above them.

"mingi?" he called again.

"yeah yeah I am listening, let's start." he finally let out.

"okay, yeosang have you bought that book?" a creepy laugh echoed throughout the place making everyone else go silent.

"no i didn't, seonghwa hyung said he would take it with him." he glanced at seonghwa.

"oh yeah wait let me go and just bring it."

"alright but seonghwa you have to be careful" the older nodded his head in response. the door closed immediately after he left.

the rest of them made their way towards the second floor, careful not to step into the gaps with the charges clutched tightly in their hands. before them was a side many would hope to forget.

the air shimmered, their eyes unwillingly shooting a glance at the windows surrounding them. moonlight slipped to the cracked board covering half of the window.

hongjoong's pov

i saw an old portrait, ripped down the center leaving a half corpse-like face staring endlessly at the chandelier.

"hyung here '' I heard jongho say looking in the direction I saw everyone gathering around the anonymous portrait.

walking ahead I stepped on one of the shards of scattered broken glass. that's when another breeze picked up I heard the turned-up curtains inside the mansion shook as if they were laughing, causing the hairs on my body to stand at the end.

i made my way towards the center where everyone else was standing. we all looked around the portrait watching its gaze at the ceiling but before he could utter a word, a shadow flickered at the corner of my eyes.
