"Some stories are better left in the dark." As an urban writer, this saying has never sat well with you.
It has been months since your last adventure out of Northcore, and you've been itching for something better to write than your casual travel blogs. So as usual, you scrounge the internet for abandoned historical monuments and come across one Atkinson manor located in West Aurous. You download a brochure and book a 4-day stay in a local inn. Packing your bags, you hit the road ready to write your magnum opus.

West Aurous, the better counterpart of South Aurous. Formerly named Mildreson, Aurous was officially split in two by founding families Atkinson and Mildred in 1830. After long troublesome proceedings, Mr. Arthur Atkinson succeeded in securing the west while Mrs. Stacey Mildred was left with the (decent, but not fairly grand) south. Unlike the south, West Aurous has always been known for its lush scenery, thriving ecosystem, and rich gold-filled mountains.Remaining the most visited place in Magnamus, it remains beloved in the hearts of tourists today. Take a trip down ancient history and visit the Westside museum or indulge yourself in our sensational sweets and ecofriendly fashion down at Plaza Royale. If you have time, you can also visit our gold mines at St. Grettinshire or chat with our friendly locals in Marjorie inn. Take a nature hike up Sodor mountain and see the infamous 'Atkinson manor' from a distance. (rates apply for every tour)
We hope to see you around here, partner! Don't keep us hanging old pal.
West Aurous. Don't go to the south, we're the better Aurous.

Welcome to West Aurous! A sign greets you, easing the fatigue off your chest. After checking in Marjorie inn, you book yourself a tour and join a couple of tourists in hiking up Mount Sodor...
This was not in the brochure. According to the tour guide, Many locals are afraid of going near the manor due to it being haunted by a benevolent phantom. After being left by his second wife Martha in 1852, Arthur Atkinson drove himself off a cliff and left his only son, Luke, the sole heir of the estate. Yet his death had been nothing but a bad omen; a few years later he vowed his revenge, and a tragedy befell the manor.
On the night of May 20, 1855, Luke Atkinson disappeared from the public eye.
But ghosts and phantoms aren't real right? You know this because you've been an avid fan of Scaredy dog ever since you were a child. There's always a twist, and the villain always ends up as the estranged aunt or the local producer. You wait for the tour guide and the tourists to leave before climbing down the mountain and trekking the path to Atkinson manor. You don't stop walking until you find yourself at the foot of its rusty gate.
