My opinion: Okay. Let me explain before I get murdered. Yes, I know what people mean by pave the way. It means to make it easier for other groups. I'll explain to you who i think paved the way, and how bts HELPED THEM, not actually paved the way. Psy released a song called Gangnam Style in 2012. This song has now reached over 4 billion views, one of the most viewed videos on YouTube. That's more than half of the people in the world. But that's beside the point. People all over the world heard this song before bts debuted. This song is what made kpop popular. This song was heard by billions of people. This is one of the most iconic kpop songs. Yes, bts did help kpop get popular all over the world, but psy did it first <3 a lot of people wouldn't have known what kpop was or that it existed before psy released gangnam style. People are more likely to know the song gangnam style than any other songs of they've never associated with kpop. Yet you're gonna sit here and tell me that bts paved the way? They helped pave the way, but honey, it was done first by psy. There's a difference in helping kpop get popular, and getting kpop popular first. Psy paved the way, and groups such as bts, blackpink, big bang, twice, snsd, etc helped pave the way. Get it right. Do your research before you say things. Just because bts is more popular, you have to remember, they didn't get popular until about 2015 woth I need you. I'm not saying they're not a great group, they've definitely accomplished a lot, but psy has been around for longer, and he made kpop more popular before bts. Agree or not, feel free to disagree 🤷‍♀️
