Pete POV

"How did you find out...?" Vegas kept his voice low, approaching me.

"I feared the security system had been breached and ordered Nop to search the whole mansion for bugs or cameras. That's why I left the mansion. So that it wouldn't arouse suspicion about my intention."

"Did he find something besides those cameras?"

"No...nothing else...still..."

"You should have told me."

"If I had, would I have discovered this?"

"..."

"I kinda suspected you... When Nop told me he'd found a camera in the bedroom and another one in the bathroom, pointing at our bed and the shower, I was suspicious of you. That's why I asked him to remove those cameras and take it to Arm to analyze them. After all...you always filmed your partners without their knowledge, didn't you?"

"I didn't break my promise, Pete! I didn't film what happened before." Vegas rushed to say. He reached my face with his hands. His speech was apprehensive. "So many days without being able to see you because of work, it was making me anxious. So I... I turned the cameras back on just to watch you every time I could...

"I might not like the idea, but I would probably end up agreeing with it if you could explain to me your reasons."

"I'm sorry..." Vegas looked into my eyes with regret and distress.

I leaned my forehead against his and closed my eyes. "Don't I always give in to your wishes?!"

"You do, but..."

"The truth is, if you're unsure about telling me about things, probably I'm the one who must be doing something wrong."

"I don't want you to blame yourself... I..."

I silenced Vegas with a peck. It's useless to fight over it. "After this mission is completed tonight, let's spend some time together, just the two of us. Let's travel to some deserted beach. Let's leave all disagreements behind."

"This is my wish too."

"Consider it granted" We kissed affectionately. "I need to go now. See you at the port."

"I love you, Pete"

"I love you too."

Vegas POV

As I finished putting on my clothes in front of the main bedroom mirror, I recalled my conversation with Pete. I felt calm. I didn't expect this reaction from Pete. I thought he would scold me and turn his back on me.

Suddenly I heard the sound of a cell phone ringing. Looking in the mirror, I realized it was Pete's phone. He had thrown it at me during the conversation. I had left it on the bed. Pete ended up forgetting to pick it up, but he must have left the mansion by now.

I looked at the screen and it was Arm. I answered the call.

"Hi Pete! This is Arm. Did you find which computer in the mansion of the minor family could be receiving those images? I've been thinking and I'd like to check one more thing. But I need access to the computer."

"Interesting."

"Khun Vegas?" I could feel the apprehension in his voice on the other end of the line.

"How are you doing, Arm? Pete forgot his phone at home."

"Oh...sorry to disturb, Khun Vegas."

"Don't worry. Actually, I'm glad you called. About what you just said...Pete told me everything."

"I see..."

"The computer is mine."

"Oh..."

"You see...I confess that I am obsessed with him. That's my crime. You certainly already know about that, don't you? Hahaha" I faked a laugh.

"Haha" Arm faked it too.

"I'm very sorry for my previous behavior, Arm." I carefully changed my voice to a more apologetic tone. "I'm very jealous and I end up acting on impulse. I hope you can forgive me."

"I know it was a misunderstanding, Khun Vegas. That's in the past."

"Mhmn..." I tried to sound appreciative.

"Well, I'm going..."

"By the way, Arm...it worries me that someone has broken into our security system. Please do whatever it takes to find out if there is any threat to my family. I will take my laptop to you."

"It won't be necessary, Khun Vegas. I can access it remotely."

"Good. Let me turn it on for you." I turned on the laptop that was on my desk near the bedroom. Arm accessed it remotely.

"Feel free to check whatever you need. All videos that had been recorded are in a folder named Pete."

"Oh, Okay."

"You have full access to any data on this laptop, Arm. Pete told me you've been helping us to check our security system. You're a really good friend of Pete's. I do appreciate what you're doing for us."

"Don't mention it, Khun Vegas. I just want to be of some help."

"Hey Arm...one more thing...can you report to me directly? Pete's been worrying about us all this time. But it's my turn now to take responsibility. If somehow I might have facilitated some sort of offense to our security, I want to take care of it directly. You know him... Pete won't rest until he sorts it all out himself. I don't want him to worry even more. He's already worried about all this weaponry negotiation. You understand, don't you? Can you do this for me, please?... for Pete's own good?"

Arm took a few seconds to respond "Yes, Khun Vegas. I'll let you know directly if I find any more leads."

"Thank you again, Arm."

I smirked to myself as I ended the call.

I recorded some intimate moments with Pete, so I could appreciate Pete with me every night I had to stay in the office late. I couldn't tell Pete that. He would be furious. He would be paranoid if these images leaked. There are only videos of us making love in every possible way. I want Arm to see it. I want to kill any lingering hope Arm might have. I want him to understand once and for all that he will never have Pete.

Yes...sometimes I'm that evil.

...

In a few hours I'll head to the port to close the deal with that idiot client. I'll find Porsche, Pete and Arm there.

My phone rings. It's Dr. Top. Weird. He usually calls Pete, but on Pete's phone there is no call from the hospital.

"Dr. Top? Did something happen?"

"Khun Vegas."

"Do you want to talk to me? Pete forgot his phone at home..."

"It's you I'd like to talk to, Khun Vegas. Could you come to the hospital as soon as possible so we can talk in person? This is too important to talk on the phone."

"Is it about Venice?"

"Yes. I'll be waiting for you, Khun Vegas."

"Okay, I'm on my way."
