Vegas's POV

Vegas and Porsche are on a private jet heading back to Bangkok (1)

"...If you kill the knight, the bishop will be vulnerable and the queen unsupported..." Porsche repeats the sentence I told him. "Pete is the knight...you are the bishop, maybe?!"

"And you are de queen, I suppose."

"Do you think it's Khun Korn?! Do you think he knows what we're doing?" Porsche looks at me worriedly. "He supported Pete when he resigned to follow you...maybe he wanted you attached to Pete for later..."

"I don't know. The only thing I know is that I can't risk Pete." I grip the arm of the chair tightly.

"That's why we have to keep doing what we're doing, Vegas."

"I made Pete promise me not to keep any more secrets from me. So, what am I doing to him?!

"I know. I'm feel the same about Kinn. But there is no turning back now."

I lean my head back on the private jet's chair... through the window, I look at the beautiful rays of sunlight that begin to light up the gray sky...and I think of the person who has the same power as the sun in my life.

Macau's POV

Despite the tough classes at college, my brother is making me go to the office most days, but I manage to stop by at the Main Family Mansion every time I can.

My brother says I already need to get involved in the family business, but I'm sure he wants to kill me with exhaustion so I don't come here.

He went on vacation for two weeks with Pete and Venice. I can breathe now.

I feel wronged. I supported him from day one. Why can't he do the same for me?

Never mind. I'm a young man with a purpose and high levels of stamina.

Besides...that's not my biggest test of resilience and perseverance.

It's been a month since we returned from that island. And Arm never brought up the subject of what happened there. I don't have the courage to say anything either. I have some pride left...sort of.

It's like starting from scratch.

"Hey Arm! Can we practice shooting now?"

I jump out of my chair quickly, as Arm walks hurriedly, tablet in hand, explaining something to another bodyguard.

"Uhhh...sorry Macau, I need to resolve a matter for Khun Kinn. He looks at his watch. "I think it will take another half hour."

"That's what you said two hours ago."
