The 4th of July in cousins is all about traditions, Susannah decks out the whole house, the dad's come up for the weekend, Olivia panics about what she's gonna wear, the boys steam and shoot off fireworks. All the other fourth of July's I was just tagging along, but this year I have friends, I have plans.
That morning Jeremiah, Olivia and Belly were all sitting at the table laughing, eating cereal all of them excited about today's 4th of July party.
"Livvy can I finish your milk?" Jeremiah said looking at her finished bowl.
"That's so gross Jere but here." Olivia said sliding her bowl towards him as she watched him grab it and chug it down, her face scrunched up in disgust.
"Yo, i'm gonna go wash the clams, did u get the lighter fluid?" Conrad asked he walked towards the kitchen looking at Jeremiah who had milk all on his lips.
"Mhm yeah, it's already on the beach." Jeremiah told Conrad who then whistles before walking into the living room.
"Are we done with the portrait yet?" Steven said walking into the kitchen with a white dress shirt on and black dress pants, Susannah following closely behind him.
"Yeah, for today but I will say you do look good in a dress shirt Steven." She said tapping his shoulder.
"Uh which makes me think if Livvy doesn't ask Kyling to the ball you should take her." Susannah offered as she looked at Steven.
"First of all ew, second of all ew, and third of all no way in hell." Olivia said disgusted and appalled, as she looked at Susannah whom had a small smirk on her face.
"No, no , no yeah i'm already going with Shayla." Steven said disagreeing, as he looked at Susannah before going a back to his food.
"To the debutante ball?" Laurel asked with a confused tone as she looked at her son.
"Yes." Steven said.
"As an escort?"
"Wrap your head around it, all right mom?" Steven said with a small chuckle.
"Shayla's coming today with Nicole and Gigi so you'll meet her and the other girls." Steven said looking at both of the moms.
"That's wonderful, and girls don't forget miss Covington's first dance rehearsal is tomorrow so uh, tick-tock." Susannah said looking in between the two twin girls.
"I'm gonna ask Kyle today." Olivia said smiling, she was happy that he could come to party, she hadn't seen him for a while now so it was good that he could come.
"I don't know my kids anymore." Laurel said looking at her bestfriend.
"Wait mom are you wearing makeup?" Olivia said leaning across the table looking at her mom, squinting her eyes to look at her mom.
