UNLIKE MOST CHILDREN HER AGE, Euphemia Potter did not enjoy the summer holidays. For her they weren't a time to relax, or to take a break from school. The summer holidays for the Potter siblings were hell. They were stuck in their aunt and uncle's house, along with the idiotic gorilla they were forced to call a cousin.

With nothing to do but chores all day, Euphemia usually woke up late. Ever since her aunt and uncle learnt about her magical abilities, they'd pretty much ignored her, scared she would turn them into a frog or something. They didn't need to know that underage witches and wizards couldn't use magic, and Mia hadn't intended for them to find out. At least that was the case until last year, when a house elf had broken into the Dursley home and the Potters had been given a warning for underage magic use. Ever since then, Vernon Dursley, their uncle, had only been getting more confident in bullying his niece and nephew. After all, it wasn't a hidden fact that the Dursely's despised any form of abnormality, and Euphemia and Harry were as abnormal as they came.

Now, as she made her way downstairs, she saw her uncle and brother whispering in hushed tones.

"Morning." she called out, her voice dangerously cold, giving a sharp look to her brother.

He left their uncle, and joined her side, explaining what had taken place.

"You should have told him you'd only behave if he signed the form. That would have worked better."

"I didn't think of that, anyway, you have to clean apparently Marge is coming over. For a week."

Mia groaned. Aunt Marge was probably one of the vilest people on earth. She was a horrible, hypocritical person, who was only related to the Potter's by marriage. Everytime she came over, something went wrong. While the Dursleys preferred to have Mia and Harry out of the way, Marge wanted them both in her eyes— so she could constantly compare them to Dursley. As if it weren't enough that Mia had to hold the title of being related to the Dursleys, they also had to call Marge as an aunt— when she was nothing but.

As if the endless comments about Mia's weight weren't enough, Marge was constantly telling her to lose some weight and put on some makeup because otherwise she wouldn't be able to find a suitable husband apparently.

Mia detested Marge.

Having to go to work, Mia used that as an excuse to not greet Marge. Even though her job at the local ice cream store meant she had to do silently stand by while the high school boys came by and made lewd comments when they pretended she couldn't hear, and it meant she had to work under the lead of Nathan; a college dropout whos gaze always lingered too long on her, whose gaze made her feel uneasy, the pay was the only reason she stayed. She was slowly building up a sum of money, her own money to prove that she could live independently. Mia was counting down the days until she was an adult, when she could finally move out and make the Dursleys sign Harry's custody over to her. The two would live happily, away from the Dursley's and their rules. Where they could eat whatever they wanted, and do whatever they wanted; even if that was just watching TV for the whole day. Mia was aware she had the fortune that her parents had left her and Harry, but according to Professor Dumbledore, there were limits on that, at least until Mia would turn 21, and Euphemia Potter was not planning on waiting her 21st birthday out while living with the Durselys.
