The weekend.
You were swinging around the city, climbing the tallest buildings in New York, and just having a good time.
The weekend was one of the few days you could actually enjoy web-swinging in the city during the day. The scenery was vastly different to how it was when it's dark out, and although you favoured the night over the day, there was a certain charm to the city that you couldn't get at night. And that was how peaceful it could get.
Sure, you were more likely to be seen and caught on camera when it's bright. However, the same could be said for criminals. Since they were more likely to get caught during the day, they'd be less inclined to indulge in their dark impulses, which made your job easier.
Though, of course, there were plenty of criminals to deal with. Like now.
You just swung around the corner of a building and spotted a suspicious-looking white van moving down the street. For the size of the vehicle, it was going pretty fast, which didn't sit well with you at all.
You decided to investigate a little, to see if your gut was telling the truth. You swung over, keeping a relatively high altitude to make sure you aren't seen by the driver.
As you got closer to the vehicle, you're spider senses went off just as you were starting to relax a little, as the back doors of the van suddenly burst open and somebody stepped out.
Y/N: "The cat!"
Although the street was busy and loud, your voice still alerted Black Cat to your presence. She looked up to where you were swinging and smirked before shooting off a grappling hook. She swiftly swung away and you went to give chase. However, you noticed that the white van she had just crawled out of was starting to swerve uncontrollably, causing nearby pedestrians and cars to panic.
You gritted your teeth as you watched Black Cat launch herself over a building. As much as you wanted to chase her down and finally bring her to justice, you knew that leaving the van alone would be dangerous to bystanders, as well as the people driving inside.
You launched yourself forward and landed on top of the van, your feet sticking to the white metal. Ignoring the cold, strong winds, you crawled over to the driver's window only to find that both the driver and passenger had been knocked unconscious. The driver's foot appeared to be forced in place on the acceleration pedal. Probably Black Cat's way of keeping you off her back while she escaped.
Y/N: "That woman's going to be the death of me."
Thinking quickly, you backflipped off the van and shot two webs at the tailgate. When you landed on the ground, you planted your feet firmly in the concrete and began to pull with all your might. The speeding van was heavy, and if it wasn't for your amplified strength, you probably would have fallen over.
You slid along the road for a good 20 meters before the van finally started slowing down.
As it came to a halt, you sighed deeply, letting out the nervousness in your chest, before letting go of the string of webs and walking over to the front of the van. The people inside were still unconscious, but safe nonetheless. Injured, but safe.
You now had the important job of finding out why Black Cat was after this specific van in the first place.
As people started gathering around the scene, you made your way to the back of the van and opened the doors. There were a bunch of boxes all over the place which had now been completely decimated. But nothing of interest stood out to you. Just a lot of packaging peanuts and what looked to be CDs and records. The lack of anything suspicious, as well as the fact that they were carrying CDs, confused you. Who even used those things anymore?
