Mark Two:

At the back alley

I really don't know why I feel like someone was watching as I walk at the dark road at the back alley of District Five. I choose that road as my short cut back to District Four from where I rented an apartment.

This is the same road that me and Coleen walk earlier and it seems save as the day light but different when it is night time. I got a bit scared as I walk alone and it is scarier when I hear nothing but the silent of the night.

"God! I think it is better if I walk at the main road rather than taking back through this shortcut." I murmured to myself as I speed up my every step until I heard something. I try to ignore it but it the sounds get clearer and nearer, which made me work faster than ever. "Ahh!" I scream when something or someone comes at my front and because I am surprised I fell in to the ground. "Ouch!" my butt hurts as it hits the ground.

I was about to protest to the person who just came out of nowhere but when I raised my head to look, I saw those bloodshot eyes with blood dripping from its mouth. A monster! I wanted to scream but I couldn't because I became numb.

...Past...

"Do you believe in Vampires?" Coleen asked me out of the blue as we take our lunch after our first class.

"Uhm, my grandparents told me about them." I answered as I continue eating my sandwich.

"But the question is do you believe in them?"

"Not that I don't believe but the thing is, I never met them and I won't ever wish of meeting them." I honestly answered even though I already knew about them by my grandparents, I still don't want to meet or even see any Vampires in my life time.

Not that I am afraid but, it just that I feel like I dislike them for no reason. Or maybe because they drink human blood though some, as my grandparents told me, really don't drink human blood if it isn't mark by a Royal Blood Vampire. While the half Vampire can only drink human blood if that human pledge his or her life to them.

"Well, you won't meet them so often."

"Then that will be great."

"Well, they live at District One, the main and restricted area of Apple City."

I also knew that, that was the one and only reason why my grandparents didn't want me to live here in the city. It is because of those Vampires living there, while on the District Two, Sorcerer and Sorceress were the ones occupying that place and same with the District One it is also a restricted area, though you can enter if you have the right permission to get through inside.

"No worries, I won't be dreaming to enter that place."

"Well, I dream of it though."

"Oh, come on! That place is too dangerous for you to come."

"Not at all! They won't force me to drink my blood they have rules and laws so, I'll be save even I came into that place. And besides, I'm dreaming to be a wife of one of the Royal Bloods or even to the half Bloods."

I shake my head in disbelief. "It's just a wishful thinking."

"It isn't!" she exclaimed. "They usually come out at the District One to hunt those so called Reapers."

"Reapers?" it took my attention because my grandparents never mention anything about it.

"Yes, Reapers." She repeated. "You don't know them?" I shake my head. "Oh, no! You should at least know something about them."

"Why?" I curiously asked.

"Reaper. They are animated dead bodies." She begins to explain. "Humans that have been suck out there blood without a mark or a pledge and died only to come back as the undead. And they will only seek for human bloods as they have turned into a Dark Vampire with a bloodshot eye."

"What!" it creep me out, learning that there were monster living in the City, makes me want to go back to my home town.

"But no worries!" she quickly answered after seeing my face turned pale. "The Vampire Hunters where here to protect us."

"But, it is still dangerous, what if they were here and," I look around to check on our students. "What if they got in danger?" I worriedly asked.

"Reapers can't enter District Three and Four."

"What! Really? But why?"

"The Sorcerer Society already put a barrier around the two Districts," she answered.

"Then, how about the District Five?" I asked about the last District of the Apple City.

"That's where the Hunters guards in, since that place is the most busies District here in Apple City." She said. "The only place where good and bad balances that is why the Sorcerers and Sorceress couldn't build a barrier on it because that is the only place where the portal of life and death connects and the only thing that they can do is to send the chosen Vampire Hunters to hunt those Reapers that kills innocent lives." She seriously stated.

...Present...

Fear. That is the most common thing that a normal person can feel once you face the monster that hides among the darkness. At this moment of time, I, Harriet Bodhi, facing the one thing that I never wish to face but with my unknown destiny, I am facing it right at this moment.

I couldn't move, not a single part of my body as the Reaper growls in front of me. I can even smell the freshly blood on it as if, this creature already been sucked someone else blood yet still thirsty and she's his next victim.

Oh, God! Move! I shouted to myself but I can't move at all until he attacks me and all I can do is shut my eyes close.
