I broke away from my flashback as North Wind started slowing down.

We were coming up to a river. I was totally against crossing it. It was almost frozen over completely, but I had pretty bad luck when it came to cold. Last week, the day before I went off on an assignment, my sister thought it would be fun to cross the frozen river. I was hesitant, she assured me that Mihan, a faun, had said that it had been frozen solid for over a hundred years.

She was halfway across the river when I gained the courage and I put one foot out, then the next, and then the next. I thought it was fine. I thought it was fun. But when I looked up at Cass and smiled, the ice beneath my feet melted and I fell through. The water was completely freezing cold. My sister jumped in after me. She dragged me back up to the surface and we ended up on the bank.

She didn't look like she was cold, but I was freezing. She called for help and Garen, a centaur, came to our aid. He put me on his back and wrapped a blanket around me. He took me back to the camp and placed me in front of a blazing fire in a nice cozy tent.

Little did I know, that the tent I was in, was Aslan's.

He came walking in when I had a tingling sensation in my toes. I had looked up when an uncomfortable breeze blew through and I almost screamed in fright.

"You don't need to be afraid of me, Alexandra Hunter," he said. I gaped in surprise. He knew my name?

He chuckled. "Yes I know your name."

"Who are you?" I asked in fear and pure curiosity.

"I am Aslan," he said.

And the memory melted away as North Wind took a careful and slow step onto the ice. I could hear the ice responding to our weight and I was afraid something bad would happen.

"Don't worry," North Wind said softly as if she too were holding her breath, "almost there."

In a few minutes, she walked off the ice. I let go off the breath I hadn't realized I was holding and let the reins slack in my hands.

We continued on our way through the woods. We were to head back to the main camp, after spending about a week out at a recon site in the woods. My sister was stationed at the main camp teaching and perfecting archery. She took really well to archery with the fauns. She left the books she was given, abandoned on the floor by her bed. She spent every second she could, outside.

When we entered the territory that we had a strong foothold in, I jumped off of North's back and started walking beside her. Everywhere my foot landed, the snow melted. It was time to heat up this barren wasteland.

Aslan told me that when I came back, I was to melt the winter. So I did. He didn't tell me how or why, just that it was my job to save Narnia from this winter.

The temperature changed drastically as the sun came out from behind the grey clouds hiding it and its warmth. I took my cloak off, even though it was still a bit chilly, it was getting warmer by the second. By the time we reached camp, green grass was growing, flowers were blooming, and everyone gave me warm thanking smiles.

When we got to Aslan's tent, we saw three other children sitting and eating. My sister was talking excitedly with them. A boy who looked to be fifteen, a girl who looked fourteen, and another girl, younger than the rest, looked around ten.

They all looked up at me and my sister smiled and walked over to me.

"Alex," she said excitedly, welcoming me back.

"Cass," I said with a nod. I looked beyond her at the new strangers. More children in this war?

"Come, I want you to meet some people," she said as she led me to the three kids.

"Guys, this is my twin sister Alexandra," she said to them. They smiled politely at me.

"This is Peter," she said pointing to the boy. He got up and shook my hand.

"This is Susan," she said pointing to the older girl. She nodded but didn't stand.

Then she pointed to the other girl, "And this is Lucy."

She stood up and walked around the table and hugged me. I was surprised but I hugged her back.

"These are the king and queens of Narnia," Cass said with a smile.
