Felix's POV

It was only a few days left until we had to go back to the UK. We didn't really have anything planned to do but to chill with our friends before we got a call from y/n inviting us to spend the rest of our time in LA at their place. She said Fredrick has quite a big house and there's a pond nearby, plus it's kind of in the middle of nowhere with only a few other houses around so we could relax after spending a month in this massive and crowded city.

I was packing the stuff that I needed, we all decided not to bring our setups since we're not gonna film there either way and we'd be back here for the last day to collect the stuff that's left before leaving. I was really looking forward to seeing y/n, but it hurt knowing that it's gonna be the last time in a while. I was trying my best to convince myself I was being too paranoid and that she's safe with Fredrick, but it was really hard to believe after I saw him holding y/n by her throat like that. A part of me was hoping she'd decide to leave him and go back to Brighton with us, but I was aware how selfish I was to think like this and would quickly shake the thought away.

"Ready? Mark and others are here already to pick us up!" Jack yelled from behind my closed door.

"Yeah, just a second!" I grabbed the keys from the bedside table and picked up the bag, rushing out of my room.

"Why so quiet?" Mark asked without looking away from the road. Our friends were cackling in the backseats like little children and I couldn't make out a word he was saying.

"Hm?"

"I haven't heard you say a word today. You alright?" He slightly raised his voice and leaned closer to me.

"Ah... kinda feel sleepy." Mark sighed at my response. "What...? You haven't spoken much either."

"It's because I'm focused on the road. And I'm thinking about Chica. I always feel bad whenever we have to leave her for a few days. But I trust the lady who always takes care of her and Henry whenever we're away, plus now they have Spencer to play with. I'm just hoping three dogs isn't gonna be too much for that poor woman." I closed my eyes as the sun was shining right at them through the car window and listened to Mark rant about his dogs and their relationship with Ethan's dog and that lady. I felt at peace as the loud voices of my friends and music playing on the radio faded away and I tried focusing on Mark talking. I didn't know how close we were to Fredrick's house but the more time passed the more anxious I felt. I wasn't sure why I was getting so nervous, y/n's and I friendship went back to normal after we had an honest conversation, but I couldn't help but feel like it's the last time we're ever going to be this close.

Eventually Mark stopped talking and the van started moving slower. I opened my eyes to see that the man was squinting his eyes and focusing on the road, probably looking for a house y/n gave us the address to. There were a lot of trees and ponds around, the houses were pretty far apart and each of them had a huge yard.

"We're almost there!" Mark exclaimed and turned the van into the yard of a big, modern house. Once we parked, everyone unbuckled their seatbelts and got out of the vehicle, leaving the bags inside.

"Let's bring our stuff in later, I wanna go say hi first!" Ethan eagerly beamed after getting out the last.

The front door opened as we were making our way to the entrance and we were all greeted by y/n who had the biggest smile plastered across her face. She was wearing pink overall shorts with a loose white shirt underneath and was standing barefoot because the weather was so hot it was suffocating. I watched as she gave hugs to our friends and chitchatted about the uncomfortable temperature. I didn't join in the conversation, I had my eyes glued to y/n and I could've sworn she looked skinnier than she was a month ago. I could see her eye bags were darker than usual and it worried me because I couldn't tell if I was only making it all up. She never seemed to have problems with eating and didn't sound tired at all. In fact, I hadn't seen her this happy in a while.
