I got woken up by the blinding sunlight. I was sprawled across the middle of the bed, I felt so relaxed and rested that even my vision and hearing seemed clearer than ever. I heard a sizzling sound in the kitchen through the slightly opened door and decided to investigate. I quickly threw on some comfortable clothes and followed the mouth watering smell into the kitchen. I peeked through the doorway to see a focused Felix waving around the pan. I only noticed a huge smile on my face when my cheeks started to feel sore.

"Need help?"

"I'm not a chef, but I'd like to say I've mastered pancakes over the years!" Felix returned a smile and went back to helplessly shaking the pan.

"You know you need a spatula to make that work, right?" I giggled and entered the kitchen, the cold tiles beneath my bare feet felt weirdly comforting.

"But that's on easy mode! I'm going extreme difficulty." Felix finally managed to throw the pancake up, it flipped in the air and landed back into the pan perfectly. We both froze for a couple seconds.

"Holy shit, dude!" I laughed as we stared at each other in disbelief. Felix set the pan back on the stove and walked up to me, pulling me in his embrace. He picked me up and spun me around, we both giggled as he set me back on my feet.

"Good morning. You slept good?"

"Better than ever." I gave him a peck on the lips and plopped down onto the chair beside a small dining table.

"Hungry?"

"Starving."

I watched Felix's back as he worked his way around the counter. Eventually he turned around and set two plates of delicious looking pancakes on the table.

"Bon appétit!"

"Thanks!" I immediately dug in and Felix sat down in front of me. "What ingredients do we have left? I'll think about something I could make for lunch." I asked and took a bite.

"Well, technically THIS is lunch. It's like 1 pm."

"No wonder I feel so rested!" I took another bite. There was a comforting silence lingering in the room while we both enjoyed our food. "So when did you wake up?"

"At around 10 or something. I honestly thought I woke you up, you grabbed my arm and yanked me back when I tried to leave the bed at first." We both giggled and Felix stood up to wash the dishes. He kissed my forehead and gently stroked my cheeks with his fingertips before looking me in the eyes. "You know, this whole situation we're in... it doesn't scare me anymore. I have faith that he'll be tracked down soon, so you need to have faith too, okay? Worrying doesn't do you any good."

"As long as I get to be with you, I know I'll be okay." I pulled him into a kiss and we both smiled against each other's lips. I knew that as long as Felix was by my side, I could distract myself from the anxiety.

Felix broke the kiss to look at me once more. "Last night you made me the happiest man on earth."

I felt a sudden wave of overwhelming joy wash through me. Here he was in front of me - my reason to live, to stay strong and fight for my happiness, our happiness, instead of giving up. "I could say the same to you, Felix."

For dinner we ordered pizza. There wasn't a huge variety of activities in Victoria's flat so we decided to have a movie night. Felix promised to take me out tomorrow so I wouldn't have to rot inside all day. We thought about going to the store and looking for a board game or anything that would give us something to do inside. We also decided to have lunch in a diner, and even though I was a bit worried about being in public for so long, I knew I had to spend more time outside so I wouldn't lose my mind. Felix promised to be on the lookout at all times so I wouldn't be as worried.
