Everything happened so quickly.

Soph couldn't process everything while being quickly dressed and rushed to the car as if the house was gonna explode any minute now.

She almost expected something to happen while she looked back, the house being farther and farther away as the car moved forward.

Nothing happened.

The bird she found that morning laid on her lap, chirping it's melody softly, you can somewhat hear it. she didn't know where she was going or why they were in the car in the first place.

She couldn't ask Sarah because it seemed like she didn't know either. her questions wouldn't stop coming out of her curious mouth and Demo couldn't answer all of them.

Only some though.

This car ride was boring, she got to admit. She pressed her head against the cold window, causing goosebumps to appear on her skin. it's not like it bothered her, however.

She believed these were normal since it's winter.

Soph let out a sigh a closed her eyes, despite waking up an hour ago. she was waking a bit too early and then she remembered how Burt reacted. he reacted the same way as a normal person would react to sleeping problems at a young age.

Who wouldn't, honestly?

Trying to sleep was rather difficult. the sunlight was causing her to see bright orange instead of black, plus the car wasn't making it any easier.

But a child like her can surely sleep through that, right?

Maybe. I've seen countless children do it and it downright scares me.

She wasn't any different. when it felt like they were arriving to their destination, she fell into a slumber, the bright orange faded away, the noises were tuned out and now, all she could do is dream.

                                                                        ---------------------------

Strange.

She woke up, her face being pressed against dirt. she quickly sat up, removing the dirt from her check. it seemed to night time and she was no longer inside a car.

She was outside, on a field specifically.

This place seems too familiar, even though she never been here before. she could see the full moon, with no clouds to cover it.

The grass felt tall, however the last time she checked, grass isn't tall. then again, it could be tall if it wanted to. guess that's why people cut it so it won't grow like crazy in their backyard.

Again, she doesn't know if this is true or not.

Another odd thing that should be pointed out is how she woke up while sitting on her knees. have she fallen asleep while being on her knees? Soph slowly got up to her feet and looked around.

There was only tall grass surrounding her. the field looks rather beautiful because of the few flowers planted around. the small girl looked behind to see a clear exit. a perfect path with no bumps, rocks nor puddles. It looked clear and smooth.

It's not like Soph wanted to leave anyway. her body wouldn't let her and the nostalgia was suddenly taking hold.

Even though she was alone, she didn't feel afraid like she normally would. could she even feel? were all her emotions stripped away from her? she hopes not, while most people would not want them, she does.
