"I Promise." (Jay x Nya) [VALENTINE'S DAY SPECIAL]

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! 

SPOILERS FOR NINJAGO SEABOUND

The sun was setting over Ninjago, turning the sky beautiful shades of orange, pink and yellow. The air was crisp with the beginnings of fall and the full moon shone brightly even with the sunset present.

A flying ship was gliding through the air just over Ninjago City, returning from a mission.  On the deck, a man stood.. leaning on the railing as he stared out into the distance. All the lights of the city were beautiful. He closed his eyes and let the crisp night air flow through his hair.

"Jay." A voice called, the boy turned his head to see a woman walking towards him.. her features were lit by the moonlight.. she seemed to sparkle and he couldn't help but stare.

"Jay.. you're staring." The woman giggled a bit.

"Oh! Sorry Nya.." Jay smiled at his partner.

Nya walked over to the railing and looked out at the city. "Wow.." She breathed. "You never get used to a view like this."

"Yeah.. it's beautiful." He sighed. He looked back at his lover and watched her black hair flow in the breeze. She meant the world to him.. she was his Yang.

His heart stung when he remembered how he lost her when she merged with the sea.. that he though he'd never see her again, never hear her laugh at his jokes or hold her hand. He never wanted to experience that again.. he never wanted to lose her again. He loved her. He had always meant what he said.. She was his world. 

"Nya.." He sighed. She looked at him expectantly and his heart fluttered. "I love you."

Nya smiled a little. He had been saying that a lot lately. "You've been saying that more often."

Jay nodded. She had noticed, "I.." He took her hand "I want to tell you I love you every day.. I don't want to lose you again.. If I lose you.. I want you to know how much I love you..."

Nya's eyes widened. That was it. 

Nya felt her eyes beginning to water. He had told her he loved her so many times, when did she ever say it back? He was the sweetest person in the world.. he deserved better from her. "Jay.." She squeezed his hand tighter. "You won't lose me... I promise."

"..You can't promise that.." He replied, taking out his Yin medallion and staring at it.

Nya took the badge from his hand and took out hers, putting them together and putting the now whole badge in his hands. She held his hands with hers as they held the badge together.

Her eyes met his. "I promise." She didn't take her eyes from his "I love you."

Jay's eyes watered, his heart feeling like it was going to explode from happiness. He leaned in, putting his forehead to hers. "I love you too."

I WAS CRYING WHILE WRITING THIS.

I LOVE this show so much. I grew up watching it and I was sad when it ended in October 2022.
