Chapter 2: Awkward Moment

She arrived at the designated place, and everyone got out of the car. "This is the Demon House, huh?" Ariana asked. "Yeah, come inside." One of them said.

They all went into the Demon House. She looked around the living room with her eyes, staying silent. "No need to be shy, Hanasaki. These are the people I work with." Mr. Kamui said. "People you work with? So you're day job is a college professor, but you're really just a demon?" Ariana asked. "Right. I'm surprised. Most humans don't believe that demons don't exist." Mr. Kamui said. "I do believe you're demons now since you put out the fire by only raising your hand." Ariana said. "Are you scared of us?" One of them asked. "No." Ariana answered. "Hm? Are you sure about that?" He asked. "Yeah. I'm sure." Ariana said. "Guys, introduce yourselves to my student." Mr. Kamui said. "I'm Satoru, I got to say... You're pretty cute." Satoru said. "Uh... What?" Ariana asked. "I'm Haruhito, it's nice to meet you." Haruhito said with a big smile. "Nice to meet you too." Ariana said. "My name is Meguru, and Kakeru is my older brother." Meguru said. "Kakeru? Is it the guy with the glasses?" Ariana said. "Nope, that's Shiki. Kakeru is your professor." Meguru said. "Oh..." Ariana said. "She knows me as Mr. Kamui, Meguru." Kakeru said. "Oh, right. I'm sorry I confused you." Meguru said. "It's ok." Ariana said. "You're not much of a talker, aren't you?" Satoru asked. "You're right. She never talks in class." Kakeru said. "Yeah..." Ariana said. "You're..." Shiki said. "Huh?" Ariana asked. "Kind of weird." Shiki said. "Oh..." Ariana said looking down. "Shiki! Don't say something like that." Meguru said. "No, it's ok." Ariana said. "Hanasaki." Kakeru said going towards her, staring at her seriously. "Don't be a pushover. It's no wonder your classmates think it's alright for them to keep continuously pick on you." Kakeru said.

All of the other guys were surprised. "I'm sorry." Ariana said. He sighed. "It looks like I have to somehow boost up your self-confidence." Kakeru said. "No... There's no need to do that for me. I only have 10 days, so it'll be pointless." Ariana said. "You don't have to be blunt about it." Haruhito said. "Are you even scared of dying?" Satoru asked. "Not really." Ariana said. "Don't be ridiculous. All humans are afraid of death. You were scared when you were put in a life or death situation only little an hour ago." Kakeru said. "Well... I wasn't scared. I just didn't want to leave the world yet, because I have something to do before that happens." Ariana said. "Right. Your older sister's wedding." Meguru said. "What's your older sister's name?" Satoru asked. "Her name is Sora." Ariana said. "Do you have a picture of her?" Satoru asked. "Satoru! Cut that out! Her sister is already engaged!" Haruhito said. "I just wanted to see a picture." Satoru said. "I'm going to bed." Shiki said going upstairs. "Ariana, are you getting tired?" Meguru asked. "Yeah a little." Meguru said. "Ok, I'll show you where you'll be staying." Meguru said. "Thank you." Ariana said, and they made their way upstairs.

He opened a door and turned on a light. "Do you like it?" Meguru said. "Yeah, it feels like I'm at my apartment." Ariana said and looked down. He looked at her concerned. "I'm sorry you lost your home because of us." Meguru said. "It's ok." Ariana said. "You know, you can always talk to me if there's something on your mind." Meguru said. "Thank you." Ariana said. "Get a good night sleep." Meguru said. "Thank you, good night." Ariana said. "Good night, Ariana." Meguru said and left the room. She collapsed on the bed landing facedown, and started to cry with her face buried in the pillow.

The next morning, she had the day off from college and went downstairs. "Oh, good morning, Ariana." Meguru said. "Good morning, Meguru." Ariana said. "Breakfast is almost ready." Meguru said. "Ok." Ariana said.

She saw side dishes already prepared. "I can put those on the table if you want me to." Ariana said. "Please do." Meguru said. She grabbed the side dishes, and put them on the table. "Good morning, Ari." Haruhito said coming downstairs with Satoru following him. "Good morning, Haruhito." Ariana said. "What's up?" Satoru asked. "About to eat breakfast." Ariana said. "Yeah, us too." Satoru said. "Are Mr. Kamui and Shiki going to come down soon?" Ariana asked. "Kakeru already left for his job, and Shiki is still sleeping." Meguru said. "Can I go get him?" Ariana said. "Nah, Sheeks rarely comes down this early." Haruhito said. "Leave him alone." Satoru said. "Ok." Ariana answered. "It's done." Meguru said.
