After 30 minutes, there was a knock on the door. I found myself regretting my bold decision, nonetheless, I forced myself to close the doors on my conscience. I opened the door and grabbed his shirt pulling him in and quickly shut the door. Callum smiled. His hair was damp and he smelt fresh, super fresh suggesting he had just come out the shower.
' Hello to you too.' He said. I could see the victory look in his eyes. He thought I had changed my mind , maybe he was right.
'Have you watched Psycho?' I suddenly found myself asking as I leaned against the door.
'Nope. Never heard of it.'
'It's Alfred Hitchcock's famous film.'
'Is it a black and white one?'
'Yeah.'
'I'm not a fan.'
'You will be.' I said grabbing his hand, as we went to the living room. I shut the curtains, got some cans of coke and sat down in front of the huge TV screen, that was hung on the wall. I pressed play and sat down with the popcorn. He sat close to me.
'Your making me watch this?'
'Uh huh, and if your disappointed at the end, I'll make it up to you?' I said, not looking at him. I could feel that he was looking at me for a second and then looked away. It was strange how comfortable and confident I felt around him. I didn't know why?
After the credits begun to roll, I turned to him. I was glad he had actually concentrated on watching the entire thing.
'So? What did you think?'
'I was not expecting that. It was brilliant. I enjoyed it.'
'See I told you.' I smiled.
'So, do you watch a lot of black and white movies?'
'I didn't used to but doing film and media at A-level got me interested.'
'What other films are you into?
'I like whatever is good; thrillers, adventures, mysteries, drama and definitely romance.' I laughed at the roll of his eyes and put my legs beneath me. 'You? Wait, don't tell me. Action, adventures. Guns, cars and all that superhero crap.'
'Hey, its not crap.'
'Yes, it is. Like you know exactly what's going to happen. It's so bloody cliché.'
'Nope. Your wrong. Same can be said for romance. The guy and the girl get together by the end.'
'Or not.'
'Name me one.'
'Um, 500 days of summer.'
'That was shit. It was just about a guy who got depressed over a girl.'
'No. It was more than that.'
'Seriously.'
'Besides, its about the journey.'
'Exactly. Its about the journey. Come on. There must be one superhero movie you like.' He looked at me, with disbelief. 'You can tell me. I'll make it another secret of ours.' I raised my eyebrow at him. 'Go on.There has to be one. '
'Ok. Fine. Only if you admit your favourite chick-flick.'
'What!' He said, as he let out a loud laugh. But seeing how serious I was he slowly nodded.
'The dark knight trilogy by Christopher Nolan.'
'Yeah that was super awesome.' He smiled at me. I waited for him to answer my question. He humphed as if trying think of one.
'God, it can't be that hard.'
'Um, Mean girls.' His face reddened slightly and he looked so cute.
'Good choice. Another one.'
'No.' For some reason I felt adamant that he admitted one more. I climbed onto his lap, straddling him with my legs.
'Another one.' I whispered as I put my lips so close to his, but not quite touching his. He gulped.
'Um, titanic.'
'Oh one of my absolute favourite-' and before I could finish, he claimed my lips. He groaned as I pulled away the way he had stopped abruptly the last time. I didn't want to but I knew I had to. I looked at the clock.
'Time to go, Mister.' I said, getting off him. I took the cans and went to the kitchen. I chucked them at the bottom of the bin. I found him in the hallway.
'So when's the next time, I can see you?'
'Who said there's going to a next time?' I smiled a teasing smile at him.
'Oh, I know there will be.'
I was playing games and a part of myself wondered what was wrong with me? And why I was doing this? I had no answer. Besides, he was playing along. I went and stood in front of him.
'Look, we need to be incognito about this. When you come round, you need to be invisible. NO one can find us-'
'I know. I know Rebecca. You can trust me.' I looked into his sparkling eyes and I knew he wasn't lying. There was just some feeling inside me telling me that I could trust him. I think he enjoyed the secrecy as much as I hated it. I didn't know where this was taking us but I knew that somewhere inside my heart that it wasn't leading anywhere. It couldn't go anywhere.
