"Ugh!"

Sophia McLaughlin groaned as she scrunched up another peice of paper that was meant to be for the speech she was gonna make as a member of the school council. Actually school council was an understatement for her. She was the student council leader. Like a literal star student. (She didn't like being called a teachers pet, she found it insulting and cliché.)

"Felicity, stop watching the rest of Stranger Things and help me come up with something!" She yells at the top of her lungs, even though Felicity, her poor elder sister who had just came back from another long day of college, was drop dead exhausted.

"You know I can't 'help', because by 'help' you mean help you write it out." She said blatantly, not removing eye contact from the screen and and placing popcorn in her mouth.

She mutters something rude under her breath.

She then turns around to her other older sibling, Aiden, who raiding the fridge for some left over McDonald's from a week ago in his stupid Manchester City pjs and he seems to notice as well.

"Don't bother asking me. You chose to be a neek, so deal with the consequences yourself." He teased, grabbing a handful of McDonald's chicken nuggets, a big mac, dominoes and a huge pack of monster energy drinks then rushes up the stairs, possibly going back to playing warzone with his mates online until 5 in the morning again.

"I got elected, and I was never even asking you, dumbass!"

"Sorry can't hear you!" He yelled from his room before shutting his door.

Sophia turns to Felicity again, giving her a desperate look.

"Please Flick!" She begged with the nickname she usually gave her.

She didn't respond.

Sophia rolls her eyes out of frustration, packs her macbook and notebook and leaves the living room. So much for looking out for your younger sibling.

"Well, if she's gonna be of no use to me then good riddance!" She chuckled to herself, plonking in her seat and into her desk.

She began to set up her stuff and continue her speech independently:

"God, what else can I write?!" Sophia muttered under her breath, pondering over her peice. "I don't want to be stood up there like a weirdo and embarrass myself-"

BANG!

"What the fuck?!" Sophia jumped at the sudden noise.

She rushes to her window, startled to death. Then she noticed something.

A bright glowing ember.

She felt her body drag her towards it. She couldn't even stop herself. She felt herself opening the door and staring at it from a far away distance.
