Itunu Adeniji stared up at the stars through her balcony that night, despite the rain thudding loudly that night.

As mayors daughter, she had to run a economic errand for womens rights that day, and it was so much hard work. Too much hard work for a girl as young as 14. Well, if she were to be honest, that's how it was like for her every single day.

For usual teens it would be the typical 'eat, sleep, repeat' routine, but for her, it was more like 'Work, greet, make love, repeat'.

And boy was she sick of it.

Her assistant, Favour, quietly opened the door.

"Miss Adeniji, are you ok?" She asked gently, as per usual.

Itunu sigh's before turning around and plastering her 500th fake smile that week.

"Yes. Just a bit tired from all the noise. I needed some fresh air."

"Ah I see." She grinned. "Well your parents wanted to let you know that dinner is ready so come downstairs soon. Chef personally made your favourites. Jollof rice, mac n cheese, chinese stir-fry-"

"Yes-um, thank you for letting me know, tell them I'll be down in a bit." She stuttered, holding her head and squinting.

As soon as Favour left, Itunu headed into her room and sat on her Californian king sized bed that was way too big for her petite size.

She opened the drawer next to her bed and lifted up a picture of what looked like her brother, who had passed away a few years back due to gaining sepsis from a football match.

"I miss you Zion." She said at the picture of him hugging her on a bench in the sunset. "Every fucking day. . ."

She tried not to seen like a vunurable young girl like most people presumed, even though no one was watching.

She sighed before putting the picture away and heading downstairs, preparing for yet another night's dinner of dread.

But her brain triggered something.

She felt herself get dragged away to her balcony once again, to see a translucent, illuminating ember call out to her...
