Morgan and Claire were waiting for Sarah outside the hospital. They were talking about a patient when Sarah joined them.

C: Sarah. You look great.

S: Thank you. So do you.

They went to the Haywood bar and entered it. There weren't many people there. That was one of the things Sarah liked about the bar. Most of the customers were regulars. Sarah wanted to take her purse out of her pocket but she could not find it.

S: I think I forgot my purse. I'll be right back.

Cl: Yeah, sure, we'll be with the others.

Audrey, Neil and Ashley were sitting at the counter laughing. Claire wanted to leave right then and there at the sight, but stopped herself. "I'm here to have fun," she reminded herself. Neil was in a good mood until he saw Claire. He didn't want to be reminded of her and what she had said, but what could he do, they had the same friend group. Ashley noticed his gaze and quickly took his hand. "She's not worth your anger Neil. Forget her". He looked around hoping to see Connor somewhere.

Connor went back to Neil, Ashley and Audrey. Morgan and a woman were standing with them.

M: Connor, I'd like you to meet Claire.

He shook Claire's hand.

Co: Very nice to meet you, Claire.

Claire smiled at him.

Cl: You too, Connor.

M: I'll introduce you to Sarah in a minute, too. She just had to go back to the hospital to get something.

Co: Great.

Connor pov:

Connor was very happy. He already felt really comfortable with them even though he had known them for such a short time. But he noticed that Neil and Claire were a bit tense.

He planned to ask Neil about it another time.

Claire started talking about a doctor named Shawn. He had apparently developed a new procedure and everyone was very proud of him. Connor looked around the bar. Zayn, who he had talked to earlier, was having a conversation with an elderly woman.

Sarah pov:

Sarah was a bit annoyed that she had forgotten her purse at the hospital. She hurried and was back at the bar a short time later. After she entered, she was immediately approached by a man.

The man: Hello pretty.

S: I am not interested.

The man: Are you playing hard to get doll? Don't worry I'm into that kind of thing.

She ignored him and tried to walk past him.

M: Hey. I'm talking to you.

He grabbed her arm and she threw her bag in his face.

S: I said I'm not interested.

The man was swearing and approached Sarah angrily. She had no desire to fight with him, so she thought about leaving the bar. A guy was coming towards them, but he didn't look like one of his friends. The guy placed himself protectively in front of her.

C: Hey. She said she's not interested, what's wrong with you?

The man: What do you care.

Connor saw that the man's friends were walking towards them and he didn't want to start a fight so he said:

C: She's my girlfriend okay? Back off.

Connor took the woman's hand and went in the other direction.

C: Let's go, love.

The man wasn't happy but he turned around and went back to his friends. As soon as Connor didn't see him anymore he let go of the woman's hand and looked at her.

Sarah pov:

Sarah was annoyed by the man who had bothered her, but she was very grateful that someone else had helped her. She hadn't seen his face yet, so she turned to thank him.

S: Connor?

C: Sarah?

He was speechless for a few seconds.

C: Wow, it's so nice to see you again. How long has it been?

S: A few years maybe? What a coincidence.

She hugged him.

C: Sorry about that guy. What a jerk.

S: It's all right Connor. Thank you for helping me.

Connor looked at her. He was so sorry that she had experienced this.

S: So? Are you visiting someone in town?

C: No I...

He was interupted by Morgan.

Morgan: Sarah finally. You are here.

S: Nice to see you too Morgan.

Morgan rollen her eyes.

M: Oh I almost forgot. Sarah, this is Connor Rhodes the new doctor but I guess you too have already met.

Sarah looked at her puzzled.

S: What?

Morgan: Yes, I thought you already knew that.

Co: Well... I haven't hold her yet. We were just catching up.

Cl: You two know each other?

S: Yes.... Connor and I were at the same hospital in Chicago.

M: I had completely forgotten that you were in Chicago. What a coincidence that you both work here now.

C: Yes it is.

Connor was pleasantly surprised. Sarah and he hadn't done much together in Chicago. They were just colleagues, but he had always appreciated her as a person.
