Giyuu was the first to wake up. He quickly took in his position and slipped out of the bed. He looked out the window.
They had slept all day and all night. The sun was just hardly rising once again. He sighed and turned his head away. His eyes landed on the folded documents on the nightstand and he quickly swiped them.
He left the room in a hurry and was quick to notice the soft breathing from two other rooms. He chose to ignore it. He made a simple breakfast.
Giyuu say down and ate quickly before reopening the medical file. He stared at it. For anyone who had never seen the bloodwork of a demon, it looked like an animal's blood. But for those who had seen the bloodwork of a demon, they could see the minor changes.
He slowly closed it as he heard the movement in the house. He quickly stood and walked outside, not wanting to look at whoever it was.
He slipped his shoes on right outside the door and started walking. He walked across the training ground before pausing. He looked towards the training rack. His sword hung there, untouched.
He grabbed it and pulled the blade out, checking it over. It had a beautiful sheen of blue.
He glanced back at the house. Whoever had been up had stopped making noise. Probably went back to bed.
He pressed his finger into one of the squares in the hilt and a green mist poured out from the bottom of the blade.
He began to practice his water breathing, using a spark of the blade to igniting the mist causing a small explosion. It was silent, but very pretty.
He was weaving between attacks when a red edged sword met his. He looked up sharply. Rengoku smiled at him. "You're up early!" He all but yelled.
Giyuu smirked. "So are you. Spar?" He asked.
Rengoku grinned even wider. "I thought you'd never ask!"
Their swords clashed time and time again. Giyuu was pleased to note that he didnt get rusty at all. He placed several well coordinated attacks against Rengoku, effectively breaking though his guard.
His blade grazed Rengoku's side before he was kicked in the stomach. He was quick to regain his footing. But something bothered him. It didn't hurt. He wasn't felling any of the attacks.
Rengoku seemed to slow down as he felt his own movements speed up. His eyesight became sharper. His nose became stronger. He could smell the blood circulating though Rengoku's body. He could hear vibrations from all around. He saw his nails sharpen ever so slightly.
Rengoku's sword was sent flying as his senses returned to normal. He was hardly breathing in at that point. Rengoku was staring at him intensely.
"Tomioka.... did you just...." He started. Then shook his head.
"Did I what?" He asked, feeling panicked.
"For a moment there it felt like you had the aura of an uppermoon." He spoke cautiously.
Giyuu tensed. "O-oh." He held in the urge to cringe. Was he really starting to become his father already?
Rengoku's eyes landed on a few sheets of paper laying on the ground. The medical files. He glanced at Tomioka who seemed preoccupied with a little squirrel that had landed on his head. He snorted at the sight before speed walking to the papers and swiftly grabbing them.
"I'm gonna go inside!" Rengoku called out, hiding the papers.
"Okay!" Giyuu yelled back, now holding the squirrel like an infant. He gently booped the small creature on the nose and smiled at the tiny sneeze.
"I'm calling you Tsu." He mumbled as the squirrel scrambled to sit on hi head again. He went to grab his papers to finally burn them. He didn't care who his father was; he was his own person.
When he felt his empty pocket he paled. He made a beeline for the door, a sinking feeling in his stomach. He walked into the kitchen and spotted everybody now wide awake looking at the papers in shock.
Shinobu slowly looked up. "You- you're-" She shut her mouth, a look of disgust in her eyes. No. No no! This couldn't be happening.
Uzui slammed his hands down on the table. "You're a fucking demon?!" He yelled in outrage. Giyuu flinched.
"No! I-" Rengoku glared.
"So the aura I felt earlier was you! You traitor!" He grabbed his sword and Giyuu backed up, terror in his eyes.
"You guys just let him explain-" Hinatsuru tried.
"Waaa! He's gonna hurt me!" Suma cried.
"I'm gonna kill you!" Uzui growled, grabbing at his own swords.
"I'M NOT A DEMON YOU ASSHOLES!" Giyuu finally snapped, bursting into tears. Shinobu quickly gained a face of horror. "IT'S NOT MY FAULT FOR BEING BORN TO THE WRONG MAN OKAY!"
They all finally came to their senses. "Yuu-Chan wsit!" Suma yelled as he ran out the back door.
Little Tsu was suddenly on his shoulder, her tails wiping his tears as he paws wrapped around his cheek.
He kept running and running, not caring about the shouts behind him. He didn't listen to their pleas of forgiveness.
He felt betrayed. He had felt love for them and they had shattered what was left of his heart. He ended up running right into someone.
He looked up in fear. Sanemi stared at him, not quite comprehending the sight before him. "Sorry." Giyuu whispered before he bolted again.
Sanemi joined the chase quickly, wanting answers as to why the stoic man was sobbing. He felt concern flicker in his mind and for once didn't push it down. Tomioka didn't cry. So what had managed to make him?
When Uzui, Shinobu, Rengoku and Uzui's wives joined him, he asked.
"We fucked up. We said something we shouldn't have said." Shinobu mumbled as a tear fell.
"Shit! We lost him!" Rengoku called. Their eyes snapped forward as they caught sight of a cliff. Uzui was pale, running o the edge.
'Please god no..... Not him.... I'm sorry Giyuu....' He let a single tear fall as a squirrel was sitting next to him of the ledge also seemingly crying.
The cliff fell at least two hundred feet. He could hardly make out the shape of the body below. The blood around it was spreading quickly.
He lost control of his voice and body for a moment. "GIYUU! YOU BETTER FUCKING BE ALIVE!" He cried as they others froze. He began to scale the wall quickly reaching the body of his beloved. He cradled the limp body while sobbing.
"Please! I'm sorry! Come back! Please! Please please please...." He bent his body over, clutching the body tighter. Shinobu landed next to him and paled.
She took he body swiftly. "He's alive!" She called out as she checked his pulse. Sanemi acted first and lifted him.
"I'll get him to the butterfly estate as fast as possible!"
