"I can do this!"
A determined Yor stared back at herself in her bedroom mirror. She had just recently woken up for the morning and had just finished doing her hair. Her crimson red eyes sparkled with hope and determination, further backed up by a cheerful smile.
While there weren't any assassination gigs available at the moment and it being her day off from the City Hall, Yor had decided to stay home. And perhaps run a couple of errands. However, before that, Yor would have to say goodbye to both Loid and Anya as they headed out to their individual destinations. Anya would always run up to Yor and hug her before leaving the apartment for school, which was something Yor herself always looked forward to every morning that Anya had school. It was with Loid that something felt off when saying goodbye.
There wasn't anything, in particular, that was worrisome about Loid's goodbyes. She always sent him off with a smile and a wave, which was returned back to her by him. Loid would then thank her for her help around the house and/or family and step out. To anyone, this wouldn't be seen as anything bad, but in Yor's overthinking mind came the thoughts of "Is this how an actual married couple are meant to say goodbye to each other?" and "Am I being an actual convincing wife?"
Her eyes darted to the magazine lying a top of her countertop. She had recently gotten a magazine targeted at couples on how to get closer to their partner, including the smaller acts. Though embarrassing to buy at first, Yor's curiosity had gotten the better of her one day when she was out doing errands. "Maybe this will help..." That was all that went through her head.
It was through this magazine in which it gave the tip: "Even small acts such as a peck on the cheek would be appreciated by your partner, they're sure to love it!"
"Is this true...?" Yor stared at the page, just the thought of her kissing Loid in any way embarrassed her. Plus, even if she did attempt to go through with it, she would most likely back out of it, whether or not she was drunk.
"Would he..even like that..?"
~
Yor smiled as she watched both Loid and Anya interact before they left to go about their days. They were both standing by the front door with Yor standing not far from them. Ultimately, the assassin decided to go through with her plan, though how he would react made her all the more nervous. Though it was this same nervousness that made Yor fidget in place.
Loid's hands slightly adjusted Anya's uniform as Anya stared down. "Remember what we studied here at home, okay?" Nervous sweat began building up on her face, awkwardly, Anya nodded. "What did we study again last night..?"
Loid, not convinced, gave a small sigh, "Right, well, go say bye to Mama."
Anya turned around with what looked like a bright sparkle in her eyes as she stared back into Yor's eyes. Something about seeing Anya being so happy looking at Yor warmed her heart. "Byee Mamaaaa!" Anya ran up, hugging her lower legs tightly. Yor giggled and gently placed her hand on her head. "Make sure to behave okay?"
"Okay!"
"Are you ready to go Anya?" Loid asked the little girl before him, who stared back with a cheery smile. "Yes!" Her hands held her bookbag shoulder straps in place. Slowly, Twilight placed his hat on his head as the front door was opened slowly to allow Anya to walk past. Through the corner of his eye, as he watched Anya walk out the door, he managed to see Yor slowly stepping closer, though it wasn't until he looked back up at her that he registered how close Yor truly was.
"Well, we'll be heading out, thank you for everything Yo-"
Yor, who had shut her eyes in the process, had already leaned in to give him a peck on the cheek. Loid seemed to not react in time, especially due to the suddenness and thus his reaction to her attempt was unknown. However, it was upon contact of her lips with his cheek that truly made her face blush furiously.
