...
I always have the same dream every night.
Whenever I lay in bed...
...and drift off...
...I'm taken back to the same place.
The same event.
I don't really know what it means. It feels like it's trying to tell me something, but I can never figure out what.
But there's always been a sense of familiarity in it. As if what I've been seeing wasn't just a dream, but...
...a memory.
Whenever I wake up, it's always just a hazy blur. I can barely remember what happens, but whenever I go back to sleep, it all comes back to me.
However, one thing that has always remained consistent with these dreams - one thing that remains engraved in my head even after waking up...
...is a voice.
A soft, gentle voice that I recognize...
...that's always calling out my name.
"Hiro..."
A voice that brings me comfort... Consolation...
"Hiro..."
Reassurance... Hope...
"Hiro!"
...
...
...
Wait a second, what is that ringing noise?
PRESENT DAY
Location: ???
"Hiro, wake up!"
Suddenly, my vision goes black, and...
???: Hiro, get up! Do you know what time it is?!
*BRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINGGGGG*
I hear the constant ringing of a bell...
...Wait, no, that's my alarm clock.
And the voice of a young girl, seemingly in a panic, calling out to me repeatedly. I can feel my body being moved back and forth.
Very aggressively.
I groggily open my eyes and am met with the sight of a young female with chestnut brown hair reaching down as far as her chin, and soft brown eyes.
...And a frustrated expression on her face.
???: Hiro.
She shuts my alarm clock off and leans her face down, moving it right in front of mine.
???: Get. Up.
I rub my forehead and groan.
Hiro: Yeah, yeah, I'm up, I'm up...
I reply in a hoarse voice.
???: Come on, we're gonna be late for school!
She backs away and starts going through my closet.
Hiro: It's still early... We're not gonna be...
I lazily turn towards my clock and look at the time.
...
Hiro: ...late, CRAP--
I hastily jump out of bed and end up falling to the ground. I let out a pained grunt as I hit the floor, but the sudden rush of adrenaline urged me to get up and walk it off.
