Y/N's POV
The Sinnoh League stadium was remodeled and is now hooked up with advanced shields that protect the audience from attacks and shockwaves since the old model didn't provide any protection. It was cool looking and I loved how it turned out.
Today was packed since it's the Championship rematch between me and my mother Cynthia... If I remember correctly, I was defeated by her Garchomp and they've been partners way before I was born.
However, this battle will be different because I've trained much harder to prepare for this day because the title of becoming the World's Greatest Pokemon Trainer is on the line. This battle will determine if all of the hard work and struggles have paid off.
Deciding on my best team for this match, I have Charizard, Blastoise, Talonflame, Decidueye, Umbreon, and Magneton. My mother could be using any type of Pokemon which means types are crucial and will help decide who wins the match.
Man, it's been a few years since I've last been in the stadium but I knew from my loss that today's loss is tomorrow's win. As I mentioned, my team is stronger than it was when I last challenged my mother.
"Suzuki Y/N, you're up!" One of the stadium officials called me and I nodded.
Putting both the Z-Ring on my left wrist and the Mega Ring on my right wrist. Walking to the stadium battlefield the bleachers were packed with people but I failed to notice that everyone Kpop Idol from the tournament was in the VIP lounge. When I stepped into my place on the battlefield, the MC greeted the audience.
"Welcome, ladies and gentlemen! To the Sinnoh League Championship Rematch! As I remember from last time when our challenger Suzuki Y/N was defeated by the current Sinnoh League Champion Suzuki Cynthia! But hey, who knows? This battle might be different since I'm sure that Y/N had a long time to train his Pokemon and his plan his strategy to defeat the Champion!" The MC said to the audience and they loudly cheered.
"Now, enough talk! It's time to welcome the one and only... Champion Cynthia!!!" The MC introduced and the crowd cheered as my mother graciously walked onto the battlefield. Just like before.
She had a warm smile on her face while waving at the audience, honestly, I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous at all because I'm quite am. At least a little.
"Looks like your test begins here! My son, I wondered how much you've learned since the last time we battled here. Now, are you ready...?" She asked me while grinning and I grinned as well.
"You're going down this time!" I replied to her and she smiled.
The referee comes forward to the middle of the battlefield before explaining the rules of this match. This will be a full-on battle meaning will be using all six of our Pokemon team and substitutions are only allowed for me since I'm the challenger.
"Now, please bring out your Pokemon!" The referee instructed us.
Sending out her first Pokemon, she chooses Spiritomb like in the last battle which is a ghost and dark-type. Since Spiritomb lacks weaknesses when it comes to types, I decided to choose Umbreon to prevent Spiritomb to use psychic-type attacks.
