"Complicated"

Jasper quickly finishes his conversation with the employee. After finally getting him out he turns to me. "Look, let's just get straight to the interview. No more distractions." He says and sits down in his chair.

"Is that all I am?" I ask. He looks up at me, his eyebrows furrowed. "A distraction?" I mutter in disbelief and he breaks eye contact. "That's not what I meant." He whispers. "Then what did you mean? Ever since that one night in the car you just can't make up your mind can you?" I spat and he quickly stands up.

"I have a girlfriend." He looks up at me. I stare at him blankly, my mouth wide open. "So not only are you fucking your coworkers but your doing it while having a girlfriend, and while your flirting with me?" I say angrily, before turning around to walk out. Just as my hand grips onto the doorknob his hand interlocks with mine. "It's complicated."

"What is complicated?! Cheating and being a complete asshole at the same time?!" I yell and he quickly turns me around, now inches away from me. "My girlfriend just cheated on me, that coworker is my girlfriend. She doesn't know that I know yet. So no I'm not fucking another woman while being in a relationship. And you..." He pauses.

"I?" I ask impatient. "You're hired." He says switching topics. "Wait, I didn't even do the interview." I say as he heads back to his desk. "Don't need too. I know your qualified already." He says, sitting down.

I quickly rush out of my car. As I do my phone stumbles out of my pocket and as I reach down at it a groan leaves my lips. 'Are you kidding me?' I say to myself as I see the cracks that cover the entire front of my phone. But all I could think about was getting to work in time, after all I was 20 minutes late already.

I rush into the building and bolt to Jaspers office. I push open the door, "I am so sorry, I did not mean to be late!" I yell and just as I open my eyes I see around 15 men in suits staring at me. "I- uh." I mutter. "Sorry." I awkwardly laugh before shutting the door.

A couple minutes pass and Jaspers door opens and the 15 men in suits leave. At the end of the long line of men was Jasper. "Sky, " He begins, "Next time please knock." He says and I quickly nod. He gestures for me to go inside his office and I do.

"20 minutes late?" He gapes. "Look I'm sorry-" I say before he interrupts. "If you're going to be my personal assistant you better get here on time." I nod yet again, not knowing how to make out words. "What happened with that?" He says staring at my phone which I held in my hand. "Oh I dropped it." I say. He doesn't respond but rather starts looking in his desk.

He pulls out a brand new iPhone. "For you." He says. My eyes widen a little but I take it. "Thank you so much." I say. "Well it isn't for free." He says and I look at him kind of confused because I thought it was a gift. But still I start searching for money in my purse.

"I don't mean money." He says and I let out a little sigh of relief. "Tonight 8 pm, I'll pick you up." He suggests. "Why?" I ask. He looks up at me, "Why not?" He smirks.
