Olympus gods are famous for many things like their beautiful faces, their perfect body their bad temper, their fucked up geneology, their bad parenting skills and the list goes on and on.
Yoo Joonghyuk wasn't really expecting anything, to be truthful it's not much different for humans either, especially for humans of noble status.
Yoo Joonghyuk didn't get along any better with his blood family on earth either, his adoptive parents were nice but what they provided him was opportunity not affection but Joonghyuk won't complain about it. It was already a big favor on their behalf to raise a child as their own when he didn't have the same blood as them running through his veins.
Joonghyuk knew that he was adopted at a very young age and he was grateful that his parents didn't keep this a secret from him.
He was happy to find out that his birth mother was still alive and she only abandoned him to protect him from the wrath of the Goddess Hera.
Joonghyuk was honored to find out that the blood flowing through his veins was the same as the ruler of the skies himself and that he was destined to become a hero that everyone will remember for centuries.
He enjoyed the time he spent with his master while learning the skills of a worrier from her. She had the blood of Titans in her that's what made her so distinct and powerful. She was harsh with her training but Yoo Joonghyuk enjoyed his time with her nonetheless.
He cherished every moment he spent with his wife. Lee Seolhwa was a healer and a woman of wits. He fell in love with her the first time he saw her but that didn't mean that he took her any less seriously. He loved his wife probably even more than he loved himself.
He loved his children and loved every moment he spent with them. When his first child was born Joonghyuk was astonished by how such a tiny creature could be born from him. The way his daughter tried to wrap her tiny hand around his finger was adorable. Her hand was just too small to wrap around his finger that made it even more adorable.
He was excited to finally return to his home, his country, his family. He was excited to see the mother that gave birth to him and the family that he was unfamiliar with. He wanted to introduce to them the family he made for himself in the years that passed.
Yoo Joonghyuk was satisfied, he was happy and the reason that he wanted to meet his birth family was not because he desired any love or terrestrial rights from them. It was simply curiosity. Curiosity to see his mother's reaction when she sees him after so many years.
He regrets that decision till this day. His curiosity took everything away from.
He resented Hera when he went mad because of her. He was so confused when he woke up and saw his wife and children covered in blood and breathless.
He resented his father for not doing anything to stop this injustice against him. He knew that Zeus knows everything, how Hera tried to kill him as an infant. How she took his family away from him. How she did the same thing to other children of Zeus. Isn't it his responsibility to protect his kin? Why doesn't he ever help them?
He resented Oedipus for he told him that the only way he can cleanse his sins was to follow every order of the very same cousin who was one of the people responsible to make him go mad in the first place. Every day he saw his face he wanted to rip it off, to make him go through the same suffering that his wife and children experienced before their death.
He resented his cousin for making him go through labors even Gods fret to experience. He won wars, fought monsters, went to the underworld to subdue the guard dog of hell itself, Met the titan Atlas and found out what it was like to carry the weight of sky on your shoulder.
