STEVE HARRINGTON WAS A DIRTY PIECE OF SHIT. He was a liar, a cheater and an arrogant pain in the ass.
Of course, Clarissa Byers did not always think that. Steve used to be the Sun and she was the planets spinning around him. He made her life tolerable and slowly started leading her out of the darkness that her own mind created.
They weren't your typical high school sweethearts. Clary was never popular or rich enough to be dating King Steve and the entire school never made her forget that. A big part of her never even knew why he was dating her when he had almost all the girls in the school pinning after him.
The relationship lasted eight months before Clary punched him in the face and dumped him in the middle of the cafeteria.
She was completely embarrassed and felt like an idiot. For what? For being cheated on? For being the school's laughing stock? Or for thinking he actually saw their relationship going somewhere. After that one moment, when her heart broke, Clary's life became an ever bigger mess.
CLARISSA BYERS GENUINELY CARED about her two younger brothers. Especially Will. He was the youngest sibling and his closed off and shy manner made Clary extremely over-protective off hum.
Don't get her wrong, she loved Jonathan to death too but she and Will have always had their special little bond. While Jonathan and Clary only ever truly bonded when their dad left and he became her rock and she his, she and Will always had a special bond. He was her little boy.
So, when he went missing she felt like she was dying. After Clary heard that no one has seen or heard from her little brother in almost twenty four hours, she felt like she was suffocating. And when his body was found a few days later, she thought a big part of her soul died too.
But while her mother is talking to Christmas lights and Jonathan is running along the woods, Clary feels like she is the only one actually grieving. But with her ex best friend and ex boyfriend announcing their relationship after hiding it for months and with Will's group of friends running around town and causing trouble, Clary comes to the realization that she would never be able to catch a break.
