The days passed extremely quickly. Time seems to be ahead of itself. Hawkins was no longer the same. It fell silent, darkened, a kind of mist of silence flooded whole town. Eleven was once again living a happy life with her father and Joyce. She finally felt like she belonged to a family and had a full-fledged home where she could feel safe. Max was still in artificial sleep and Lucas came to visit her every day with a broken heart. He was waiting for the moment when she would open her eyes and keep her promise. He couldn't wait for a date, but at the same time, he was worried that there would never be one. The rest of the friend team went about their normal lives, although they were never the same. Everyone except Dustin. He lost the only friend he considered his lost half. Someone who once told him "Never change, Dustin Henderson." Eddie was the only one who didn't think he was crazy, he told him so a few times. And he would give anything to hear it again. His voice and provocative tone, which always lifted his mood. After Eddie's death, he became incredibly withdrawn and stopped seeing other friends.
He even sat sideways at school lunches. Everyone was sitting in groups having fun, only he and two other girls were sitting in the corner of the kitchen. The girls weren't exactly social either, and he even felt like he'd never seen them at school before. After a long time he felt like talking. He stood up, took a plate of hamburger in his hands and stood at their table. "Hello, may I sit down?" he asked shyly. The girl with long and messy blonde hair and bangs nodded. She wore a black leather jacket with metal brooches and chains. It reminded him of Eddie. In a moment, tears welled up in his eyes and he looked at the ground.
"Hey, man, are you okay?" she asked him, and her seatmate shrugged her shoulders.
  "I just...I remembered something."
"Something or someone?" the blonde smiled. She moved her glass of water to him. "Drink."
The dark-haired girl next to her put her hand in her pocket and handed him a tissue to wipe away his tears.
"Thank you," he smiled through his tears. "And if I have to tell the truth, not about something, but about someone."
He noticed how the blonde looked at him intently and he felt a chill on his body. "W-what was that?"
"You lost a friend," she said with a serious expression.
"Yeah, the best one, but how do you know?!"
"She has superpowers. She's a witch," said the girl next to her. "By the way, she's Laxy and I'm Elena."
"I- I am Dustin," he stood shocked. "And superpowers?"
"I'll tell you about that another time," Laxy said, folding her arms thoughtfully.
"He didn't die of natural causes," she continued and her hands began to shake. Elena grabbed one of her hands and smiled at her. "I'm here, calm down."
"I don't know what it is, Dustin, but I have a very uneasy feeling about this town," Laxy said. "Like there's a nasty curse on you all from a demon or who knows what hellish filth."
"You're new here, am I wrong?" he asked, unable to find words.
"That's right," Elena grinned and flashed a smile. She seemed surprisingly calm and relaxed.
"I already have one friend with superpowers," he said, "but she's not a witch."
"You're the first one to believe that I really am," Laxy smiled, her eyes shining with happiness. "And also the first one not to be afraid of me."
"Are you crazy?" Dustin jumped up excitedly. "I trust you, I can tell when someone is lying."
"Let's look at him," a popular student named Jake walked by. "He lost Eddie the Freak so he's looking for more freaks."
Dustin lowered his head to the ground. He didn't say a word.
"Hey son of a bitch," Laxy stood up, "Shut up!"
"What's the smell in here?" said Elena. "I smelled the shit as you walked by." Dustin smirked, holding back a laugh.
"What did you two pigs say?!" Jake got angry. "Do you even know who I am?!"
"Of course we know, you're an idiot," Laxy jumped up on the table and stuck her tongue out. This reminded Dustin again of his old silly friend.
Jake just shook his head and left the cafeteria.
"Poor thing," Elena slammed her fist on the table.

There was a tremendous storm in the Upside Down at the time. The wind was so strong that it blew the dirt off the electric guitar that was lying in the sand. And it wasn't just the guitar lying there. There lay the dead body of Eddie Munson. His bandana was soaked in blood and his hair was stuck together. This is how the fate of our hero, who sacrificed himself for the town that hated him, ended. It started raining heavily and the lightning was striking like crazy. One bolt of lightning struck the guitar and its string made a sound. Right after that, another bolt of lightning struck the guitar. But it also bounced into Eddie's body. Suddenly, clouds gathered above him and it began to rain heavily on him. At that he opened his eyes. He took a deep breath and sat up. He was disoriented and scared. "I could have sworn I was dead." As he rose to his shaky legs, he started to cry. He didn't see Dustin anywhere, no one he knew. He realized that he will be living in an underworld with monsters and bacteria for the rest of his life. In dirt and discomfort.

Suddenly, Laxy's heart throbbed. "Something happened," she said scared. "I can't explain it." She herself did not understand what it meant. Elena took her hand and suggested that they go home. Laxy agreed. "See you tomorrow, friend," she smiled at Dustin and they left the school.

"What happened?" Elena asked her cautiously as she could see that Laxy was scared. ,,Hey, bestie, I am here for you always, you know it right?"
"Of course I do," Laxy whispered and sighed.  "You know, when Dustin started telling me about his friend, I felt such chaos inside. And in the end, my heart stung terribly."
"Do you think that means something?"
"I have to figure that out," the blonde sighed heavily. "I feel in this town that the evil force has not subsided. It still lives here somewhere and we have to find out where."
"Did you see something, or did you just feel it?" asked Elena, as she was very interested in these things.
  "I heard such quiet breathing."
"I wonder what it was. Anyway, it's a shame we don't know what Eddie looked like. He must have been quite handsome," Elena smiled derisively and nudged her friend on the shoulder.
"He was a weirdo and a metalhead, he sure looked amazing and must have been fun," Laxy dreamed. "Dustin also talked about him as a good person."
"And it's these "freaks" are actually the biggest heroes," Elena added, feeling a little sad about it.

Eddie took the guitar in his hands and slowly moved to the nearest rock to lean on for a moment. His wounds had already healed, but they were festering and painful. "That's what you deserved, freak, when you're playing the hero," he was angry with himself. The sky was the color of blood and lightning flashed across it. He hadn't seen any monsters yet, so at least that was a relief. "I deserve to be here," he whispered to himself. "After all, everyone at home just hated me. At least here, those filthy monsters don't think of me as a murderer and a car thief," he smiled despite his sadness. "And maybe it would be wisest to end it all," he sighed and looked at his wrist, "but not today."
