Emma's POV

The next couple weeks of school were pretty strange. After me and Niall had kissed, he was different.

Every day when I'd go and pick him up to go to school, he would peck me on the lips and then wouldn't talk to me the rest of the day. It was strange. It was like he was afraid of what other people would think. He was really nervous about that kind of stuff.

Every day I'd pick him up, i'd eather spot a new bruise or scratch on his face. I would ask him to go for help but he refused. Anything I said would change his mind, he thought what he was doing was ok.

Even my life had changed. I hardly talked to my friends. I had been spending so much time with Niall, I hadn't kept up with them. I missed their big party so I could make sure Niall was ok from the week. Allison seemed pretty peeved off that I didn't go, but I would have rather just stayed home with him. The only friend I really kept talking to was Sarah. She always kept me smiling and was there whenever I needed to talk to her. I had told her about how Niall and I had kissed and how we hang out every day.

I had promised Niall that I wouldn't tell anyone about being abused, but at somepoint he had to get help from someone. Anyone.

Today was Wednesday. In another two weeks was Homecoming. It was on a Saturday.

I had gone every year, had a blast with my friends. It's fun to dress up and just dance with everyone from school in a big rom. I never was one of those people who wore a dress that nearly showed my crotch, heavy makeup, and black pumps. This year was going to be different. But I didn't know if i'd be going with Niall, or just stick at home with him watching movies and making cheeseburgers.

It was 6am and I had 45 minutes to get ready before I had to go and pick him up. I had taken a shower last night, so I could straighten my hair. I flicked my christmas lights on that hung in my room and plugged in my straightener.

While waiting for it to heat up, I did my makeup. A brown eyeliner on the top and black mascara. I applied my base and then powdered on my foundation.

Once I smelled the burn of my straightener, I picked it up. I pulled pieces of hair through the straightener, instantly making each piece drop to my shoulders. My hair's length was just past my boobs, my favorite length I'd ever had my hair.

After I'd finished my hair, it was 6:30. I walked over to my closet and pulled on a pair of  legging yoga pants and a baggy sweater. I slipped on my mocasins, which was always what I wore. I looked in the mirror, I didn't look half bad today. I smiled in the mirror and grabbed my folders, purse, and phone before heading out the door.

My parents still hadn't come home from wherever they went. I didn't really care. My life had suddenly becomed less stressful when they did leave. It was always super quiet in my house, but my sister was coming home on Sunday so I wouldn't be lonely. She was gonna stay with me. Her name was Marie. She was like my bestfriend. She wanted to come home and help me with senior homecoming which I was really excited about. I hoped that she would get to meet Niall because she's never really met any of my boyfriends.

6:40

I walked out the door and into my car, headed to pick up Niall. The car heated up as I turned the key and backed out of the driveway. The smooth ride to his house woke me up in the morning.

My car pulled into Niall's driveway, he sat on the front porch. He wore a plaid red and blue shirt and dark jeans. He strutted to my car and opened the door with a grunt. He plopped down into the seat, closed the door, and leaned over to peck me on the lips.

He tasted of coffee like he did every day. His lips were pucked for a couple seconds before he puled away and put on his seatbelt. "Hi" i said pulling out of the driveway.

"Hey" he said with no enthusiasm.

We made out way off to school "You ok?" I asked.

"Y-yeah why would I be?" He replied quickly.

"You seem, quiet lately. Actually after we kissed." He started blushing. He adjusted his glasses, he awlays did that when he was nervous.

"I d-dont know" he replied quietly

"You can tell me anything." I said to him. We had gotten in the parking lot, we were plently early today which was my intent. Niall sighed as I pulled into a parking space. I hit the brake and we came to a stop. I pulled the key out of the egnition and turned to face him. "Please tell me"

Niall looked up from his hands and searched in my eyes. It looked like he was searching for something to say.

Niall's POV

I didn't know what to tell her. After we had kissed for the first time, I instantly new what I had to do. But i had to wait later today. I thought of something that I could tell her, so she would stop asking. I felt absolutely horrible, but she would be happy later today.

"I don't think you like me." I said. It was a lame exuse, but it would shut her up.

Her head tilted, she seemed confused. "Why would you think that? I really like you. There's something about you that really makes me like you." She confessed slightly smiling.

I smiled back at her and leaned in for a kiss. Her lips were placed gently on mine, brightening my mood. I really hoped she would say yes.
