I huffed out a breath as I willed my feet to move faster. An alarm was going off in Room 216 and if I didn't get there soon I would be reported. I slid to a stop outside the room.Pushing open the door, I immediately sighed at the sight that hit my eyes. Caroline, the teen in Room 216, had pulled out another I.V. I swear I am going to rip her head off if she does it a 5th time. She just refused to keep them in. I sighed again and quickly walked over to stop the leaking I.V.
"Now Caroline, honey, why did you pull it out this time?" I asked mustering up as much fake sincerity as I could.
"It was getting itchy." She huffed in her snobbish voice that I couldn't stand. "Plus, I needed my phone and I couldn't reach it with that 'thing' in me." she added holding up the newest piece of apple tech.
"Well this 'thing' is keeping your body full of the nutrients it needs." I practically growled back while using a paper towel to wipe up the mess on the floor. "Please keep the next one in just a little longer."
Caroline didn't even bother to answer and just huffed while texting someone. Ugh, this child! I have to control myself though. Her father basically pays for the whole hospital. He could easily replace a simple nurse like me. Even if I was considered on of the best.
It was that thought that kept me from stabbing the clean I.V needle into Caroline's arm. Instead I put it in properly and then got out as fast as possible.
I trudged slowly back to the nurses station. It had been a long day and I couldn't wait to get of in an hour. I smiled as Abby came out of another patients room to the left of me. She looked just as worn out as I felt. She smiled back at me and held up half a heart. I laughed and held up the other half. Her smile widened and she waved before heading down the hall to her next patient. Abby was my best friend in this place. She was the only one who got me through the day. Not only were we work buddies, we shared a flat together and hung out every day after work. She was my side kick, sister, flat mate, and best friend. I probably would've moved back to America by now of she wasn't here.
I smiled at the thought of our memories and sat down to finish my paperwork. I didn't get to sit long though, as I was paged to the VIP room(A/N don't know if its a real thing or not, who cares, go with it). The VIP room is exactly what the name says, a very nice room used for important people. I got so lost in my thoughts wondering who the famous person is, that it took me five minutes to realize the elevator wasn't moving. I had forgotten to press a floor. I mentally slapped myself and pressed the little 9.
When the elevator stopped, I went left down a long hallway until I reached Room 908. I took a deep breath before pushing the door open.
Niall's POV
I had put off my knee surgery as long as possible. I know I needed it, as Liam liked to remind me almost everyday. Him and the other boys constantly pushed me to get the operation. I just couldn't stop the tour though! So here I was, at the hospital. I had scheduled my surgery a week ago but it had been moved to yesterday. So today marked my first official day of physical therapy. I really just wanted the next two and a half months to be over. The doctor had been nice, putting me in a private room and assuring me the best nurse for my therapy. I sat on the tall chair in the middle of the room waiting.
After what seemed like ever, I got impatient. However, when I stood up to find the doctor, the door opened. I watched as a nurse walked into the room. She picked up the chart sitting on the counter and turned around. She kinda froze when she saw me and I took that time to subtly check her out.
