My world's tilted
onto its side.
No one's around
nowhere to confide.
Doors too heavy
pushing forth
through the crowds
while anxiety unearths.
I shouldn't feel
like this anymore.
This unfamiliarity
is routinely abhored.
I'm tripping over
my weather beaten shoes
the ones that had fit
the ones I'd loved and abused.
Nothing fits right anymore
not these things on my feet
or the silicone smile on my face
life's changes have left me so incomplete.
I need these shoes to fit the way they used to. But baby, they'll never fit again
if you leave my side too.
